Hello @ Dr. Westin Childs thanks for your informative analysis here , I’ve been having some horrible symptoms since February. I do consume alcohol for years now and I drink weekends, I came home then starting feeling shaky , I can’t tolerate heat , headaches, confused , heart palpitations, hair started falling off , I have yeast signs on my tongue , my scalp of head , my beards , rashes all over my body . I always sweat , after some days I went to hospital and they suspected alcohol withdrawals and I was placed on medications for almost two months that did not work , went to another hospital and he thought it was just some electrolytes imbalance. I started to gain weight and then puffy face every morning , I can’t sleep for longer than 4 hrs most times , now it moved to being sensitive to cold , even when there is hot weather I still feel cold , I still feel very shaky , muscle cramps , I used to play soccer I can’t even try for 30 mins now ! Too many fatigue, this has been going on since feb , I’m still feeling the shakes , slow heart rate now ! I was very active sexually but now it does not take 1 min before I ejaculate ! I think something is wrong with my sexual ability . I could just have a girl seat on my legs and I release ! I feel too many pressures all over my veins . I’m getting scared if this is affecting my fertility. I’ve done TSH and other test the last one was last two months that showed TSH levels were high and my T3,T4 went normal ranges Doc said it’s hyper I refused taking the medicine because I read about what I was feeling and I felt it was a switch from hyper symptoms to Hypo which I feel so bad now ! What do I do ? What are the test i need to take ? I live in Africa , I would have flown to the US if there is a way your hospital would kind of grant me invitation.! I also had high cholesterol levels ! So what test should I do now ? I did kidney function and liver they both went good but kidney showed I needed to be drinking more water which I do but still feel dehydrated. I’m 34 years advice sir

Where can i find a doctor who doesn't just throw the medication at you and run and then when you say that everything isn't fine they say it's probably something else?!

That would probably be a holistic doctor and insurance usually doesn't cover that probably because insurance companies and big pharma want us all to stay sick so they can stay filthy rich.

Thanks doc that was such a profound information. My cholesterol is extremely high 300 plus and i am a thyroid patient for the last 20 years on eltroxin. Started at 120 mcg now taking 25 mcg. My tsh, t3,t4 and free t3, t4 is within the range but magnesium very low. Thank you for such detailed information. Appreciate your dedication to help the world of thyroid patients. I am going to get my ferritin, b12, mag, selenium lab test done soon after watching your videos. I wish i had come across a doc like you in my country.

Hi Dr.Childs 🙏🏻 First of all I am happy I found your channel, you can be my saviour. Your explanations are very accessible and easy to understand. I have followed your videos for a while now, I am 56 , menopausal , have hypothyroidism in observation, two small lumps. I have checked my thyroid but the tests came back normal , only the cholesterol levels were a little bit up. My doctor in Romania only prescribed me some plant based medication to manage stress and to regulate my sleep problems . I don't complain about it , they are actually helpful, my concern is that in the meantime I gained another 10 kg weight. How can I find someone in London to actually help me to lose weight and improve my thyroid function ? My GP , here in London , said that there is nothing wrong with my weight, but I don't feel well and my symptoms are worsening day by day. What can I do ? Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

Hello. Thanks for posting these videos, they have been very informative. I'm currently hyperthyroid and taking PTU. My levels are currently normal, and I feel fine (aside from constant stomach irritation) but my Endo. is suggesting I get either RAI or surgery to remove the thyroid, especially as this is my second time being diagnosed with Grave's disease (they mention they usually don't suggest these treatments if its a first time case, but if its recurring, then they do). So I've been researching a bit about hypothyroidism, since that's the result for those two treatments. I'm visiting two more Endo.'s to get additional opinions on this. I know you focus mostly on hypothyroidism, but I wondered if those with recurring thyroid issues should still try to do a combination of therapies to maintain healthy thyroid levels. Thanks again!

For vitamin B-12, I've heard and read reports that indicate methylmalonic acid level and homocysteine level are substantially more accurate then serum B12, there's also a protocol that involves oral B12 and looking at output in urine to see how much the body is absorbing

Hello Doctor. I have hashimoto and had a thyroidectomy due to papillary cancer 11 months ago. After the surgery, I took the radioactive iodine pill, the low dosis because the cancer was local. I just had my blood test results and the thyroglobuline antibodies were under 20, however the TPO Ab levels were 234. They were 740 before the surgery. Is it ok to have still the TPO Ab high?

My health insurance won’t do vD along with the other tests. She said that it will no longer be routine if it was included. Last time it was checked I was insufficient in vD. I never got rechecked and was told to stop taking them a while ago. I heard the exact thing though from the dr. Oh your insurance only covers the tsh t4 and t3 when I asked for her to do the totals the frees and the reverse t3. She didn’t even check my thyroglobulin to screen for potential cancer recurrence. The same day I told her to refer me out to an endo

Lady Andrea hi, I’m 53 and diagnosed anemia and hypothyroid. I take iodine before breakfast. Eating Brasilian Nuts, coconut oil in my tea, vitamin d3 with K2 during breakfast. Vitamin b complex 2 hours after breakfast Iron 2-3 hours after dinner. Magnesium (glisinate, malat and threonate) before bed. No more loss of hair. Actually loss of hair depends on anemia. Try to have last meal before 17:00-18:00. The digestion should finished before bed. Avoid to eat foods which can not be digested easily because your immune system will treat your body only when digestion finished and during your night sleep. But don’t forget to test your iron level because you are also probably anemia.

Hi Dr. Westin, I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and currently taking levothyroxine. I've also suffered from problems with uterine fibroids I've the last 10 years. I just had a second surgery in January of this year. I am convinced that the two are related. My current Obgyn and Endo dismissed the question and immediately said they are not related. What are your thoughts on a correlation between hypothyroidism and uterine fibroids

I'm one of those rare, shimmeringly vague to near invisible male sapiens who passed through six destructive years with undiagnosed thyroid cancer, one year post hemi-thyroidectomy and a further four bewilderingly turbulent years of twice annually Radio Iodine ablation to achieve the loss of my thyroid gland for 40 years now. How do you people cope without an NHS...? Reading through comments left by people hereabouts, whom I assume to be of American majority, I have the distinct impression that your lacking a nationalised health system is the cause of a preoccupation with "self" to the point of valetudinarianism; great for MD's, Pharma, Quackery, Health insurance companies and all associated shareholders, but seriously bad for your collective health. Flip side is that UK side I have never yet encountered an NHS endocrinologist or GP who has even the slightest grip on what happens to a man's body, mind and wellbeing when his hormones, former good health and mental acuity go completely haywire. A lengthy, slothful declination in to a profoundly inescapable condition ensues which I deem as solvable solely by my fast-approaching suicide.
