You have to say, that Scott Weiland had one of the most versatile voices: at the beginning he sounded more like Eddie Vedder, here like Jim Morrison, than with velvet revolver Axl Rose and not to forget David Bowie in his solo stuff. That is amazing. And not only his voice, it is his whole expression, mimic and gesture. I think he liked to play the roles of other Rock stars.
@youjoker96475 жыл бұрын
Mike Patton is the most versatile vocalist I can think of. His vocal range is unsurpassed by any other rock singer & his talent for mimicking other singers is astounding. Of course this is just my opinion and doesn't belittle Scott or indeed, any other singers.

He sounds like Scott Weiland. Period. His voice transcends so many generations. When a vocalist sounds the same from his normal, yet the brain thinks he’s copying someone when they cover? Priceless. Absolutely phenomenal.
@billeinstein55693 жыл бұрын
@ h19 ... I think your right, I’ve also thought that . I think he also did this when laying down vocal track. He just used whichever rockstars voice he thought would suit the song best. Genius move

Scott was always an elusive combo of Jim and Bowie. As u said, few could do this any justice...Scott, even in whatever state he was in (I can’t recall what year this is from, but would guess mid to late 90’s, which were a struggle for Scott) proves himself capable. He’s about the only guy I could see reciting some off the cuff poetry of Jim’s at the end of the song and making it work

To everyone complaining about The Doors playing without Jim, take into consideration that the band makes The Doors, not just Jim. The fact that they got together to play another show is awesome. And throwing Weiland in the mix is a gateway to people who know him and don't know much about the Doors, and it brings real music back into the modern world where it's needed the most. So stop whining and enjoy the music, long live The Doors!!
