We respect ourselves by remaining and improving upon who we already are. When we change ourselves in order to become something else that we think is better, we just disrespect ourselves, our struggles and our legacy. To me, Lady Deathstrike always symbolised pettiness. She didn't have to undergo any kind of procedure or transformation. She had everything she needed to get justice, without any of that. But she allowed her ego and emotions to cloud her judgement. In a final act of self-disrespect she turned herself into a monster. I had respect for Yuriko. But I lost that respect when she chose to become Lady Deathstrike. She threw away everything that could have made her truly happy. Such as: Love, family, friends and hope for the future.

Crazy how a lot of Wolverine's rogues gallery originated in other heroes' comics. Deathstrike in Daredevil, Sabretooth in Iron Fist, Viper in Captain America, etc. Also crazy how Adamantium is closest associated with Wolverine when he's actually the fourth character, behind Cap, Ultron and Bullseye.

I guess when they changed it for the movies they just accepted that we wouldn't question it. I would be perfectly fine of Wolverine's claws just sat inside his hand when unsheathed. Well, she and wolverine had a thing. Wolverine left, and ended up doing the whole weapon x thing. In that process he killed pretty much everyone and escaped. He killed DeathStrikes father and she was super butthurt about it. She ends up running into a transmog group of bandits. They put her through Mojos cyborg process, and she becomes what she is now, for the sake of killing Wolverine.
