This song is about sexual assault, and this song is from a documentary about sexual abuse at universities. And they chose Lady Gaga to be able to sing this song because she also suffered sexual violence at the age of 19!

This song means so much to those of us who have suffered, I was so badly abused that I nearly died. I have had to live with C-PTSD and DID for my whole life. My son never understood so I sent him this song. Now he gets it. Lady Gaga speaks for all of us. Much love and appreciation to her. xx

Can you believe that Sam Smith won the oscar for best original, and Lady Gaga didn't?! I mean this song is SO important compared to Sam Smith's song for James Bond. Gaga could've really used the award to go on stage and raise awareness about sexual harassment and why it should be taken seriously, but no, i guess James Bond is more important...😒😭

just saw this Ajay. I remember when this aired, I remember it because of how emotional it was. Amazing performance. Until it happens to you..... is about other people telling sexual assault victims how they think they should feel, or be over it, or when they think enough time has passed.... etc. She was assaulted and I remember, if I remember correct, that her Grandmother did not know about it and found out watching the performance. It made it that much more emotional. She is truly an icon and this performance was iconic and one that i remember vividly to this day. Loved your reaction to it. When she brought out the sexual assault survivors and she stands up and sings to the sky with her fist. Its just that emotional.

This song is for the documentary "The Hunting Grounds". This song is on a special playlist for me. This performance is the best recording of the song because of her intensity on stage. She is amazing as an artist, an advocate for so many issues, and this time she shared her experience to help give a powerful song for a powerful documentary. Everyone should watch that film. It is the reality that so many try to hide or ignore.

Great reaction. What an amazing emotional song from Lady Gaga. As a heterosexual male myself I truly have a burning hatred for rapists and sexual assaulters whether it happens to a female, or an intersex person, or a male period. Also whether they are bisexual, or heterosexual, or homosexual at the end of the day no means no because I find it so disgusting and evil how humans can just rape someone for no apparent reason. I understand as human beings we love having sex but in the same time it must be consensual. If a male rapes an innocent female he should be punished immediately and if a female falsely accuses an innocent male of rape then she should be punished as well because rape is obviously not a joke. It does not matter whether they are attractive, or they are drunk with alcohol, or high on drugs, or how horny you are, or if they have a medical issue, and if they are wearing lesser clothes it is absolutely sinister. There is no excuse for that type of behaviour because it is a crime. We all need to have self-control and self-discipline. To all my fellow human brothers and sisters around the world always remember be genuine & take care of one another.
