Lake Amistad underwater cement tank. Tank rim was 2ft under water with deeper water surrounding. Could be bad in such big open water to just be flying across and hit that! Amistad Dam's construction began in December 1964 and was completed in November 1969. There were many structures and roads that were flooded. Ranch houses, cement windmill tanks, the old dam near Rough Canyon called "Lake Walk Dam", walls, bridges, and even cement picnic tables that were on along the old road that are still intact today. This is one of five that I know of. Here is an example of what your looking at. Cement Tank : mannaprecastconcrete.com/yahoo...

@AceRaps2CleanHisMind

Its blocks the reflection on the surface of the water and highlights Grey area's such as fish. If you go to a fish shop there will be a sticker there to test the glasses when you look at that sticker with the naked eye you can't see anything as soon as you put the polaroid glasses on you will see a fish logo. This helps you understand why many fisherman don't wear the glasses on a sunny day because of the sun but to spot depths and fish easier.

@nozrep
@nozrep 3 жыл бұрын
those are all over ranches in WTX/SouthTX. I think but am not sure but I think that historically those ranchers/landowners that had settled and owned those lands from like the 1800’s built em for cattle and sheep and goat water troughs. There were several we used to pass all the time on a ranch my dad leased for deer hunting and I remember thinking they looked real old. They were as tall as me or taller when I would walk up to them so that means those old ranch tanks are at least 6 feet tall. But I think I could peer over the top on my tiptoes and they always had a bunch of algae in them or on them. But yah super old and tall from what I can remember.

no you good you must never be afraid to ask the question lol. In old “cowboy” ranch days, they built cement or concrete water tanks and put little but long troughs beside them that helped water the cattle and any other animal that need a sip lol. Filled up by your old traditional style windmill that would pump water into the circular tank and fill it up when the wind would blow the windmill which would cause the pump to pump in the water. Haha there you go. There you have it. And this one got submerged when they dammed up the Rio Grande to build this lake.

The Beaver Lake in NW Arkansas near me was created by damming the upper white river by the Corps of Enginerrs in the mid 60's. This was mainly created as a future water source which now 55 years later is greatly needed. After years of mostly being a recreational lake it's water is now providing needs for 5 surrounding constantly growing counties......in the mid summer as the lake gets lower and lower due to more and more water usage, the local Corps of Engineers has a standing request for recreational users of Beaver Lake to report unmarked water hazards seen as the water level reaches new lows annually.....last year a new underwater hazard was identified and promptly reported to the ACoE...it was a solid concrete house foundation and steps just 3 feet below the surface atop a underwater hill top located in the center of a wide main waterway where no one expected the water to be shallow....it is now marked with a self retracting hazard bouy thanks to the Arkansas Corps of Engineers....such a simple fix, what's the issue with the entity responsible at Lake Amistad?
@nozrep
@nozrep 3 жыл бұрын
one issue among many is that it is literally a piece of the border along Mexico/Texas. In the past two decades the feds have been hampering the border guards duties to enforce immigration laws. Regardless of your politics that is a component of the issues at play.
@nozrep
@nozrep 3 жыл бұрын
so that’s not really relevant to what you asked maybe haha so i do not then know why they would simply put in a retractable buoy like you said that would extend and retract with fluctuating lake levels. But yah also droughts are intermittent but regular in this region of Texas on the border. It’s technically geologically a part of either the northern Chihuahan desert or norther Sonoran desert can’t remember which.
@tomaroni6670

What the heck? Are there more sink holes on Amistad? Looks man-made......
@KTDELRUS
@KTDELRUS 5 жыл бұрын
It is man made, back in 1968 when they flooded the area when the Dam was built, this was cement water tank, filled by a windmill. It was a water storage tank for either an old ranch house or livestock or maybe both. Have you ever seen the old ranch house that usually is underwater? When the lake gets low you can find it.

Why didn’t you put the GPS numbers for this hazard in the video? Every smartphone with a compass on it can generate the coordinates.
