You'd be surprised what you can catch trolling. I caught a 7 pounder, my first largemouth ever, trolling when I was around 12 years old with a zebco spincast combo I got as a gift from my grandparents. Almost 40 years ago.

I never caught anything larger than 17 inches over by copperhead island. Hopefully next year I will. Getting too cold for me to be out there on my kayak. I don't know how you can be out there in the cold. I'm waiting until at least March before I hit the water again.

Hey man, love the videos. My son and I are staying near Terrys Marina. We have 2 kayaks. Any pointers on where to fish for bass or catfish near us? We've tried rubber worms, crank bait, minnows, jigs. We've caught a few crappie. No fish finder on board.

Ended up having a great morning yesterday over here by yachtsman club. Caught a 14 lb catfish, small catfish, and 5 perch on a crankbait repala lure. Had a great time kayaking around the lake. Appreciate the motivation from your videos and thanks for responding.

M Fo - There are lots of local options, but I would recommend Lake Oliphant in Chester, SC as a good starting point. It’s a small lake with a boat ramp, but it also does not permit outboard engines so you don’t have to worry about boat traffic. It’s generally easy to catch fish there and as a bonus, the lake is adjacent to Skydive Carolina so you can watch the skydivers parachute in. I also really enjoy Chester State Park and of you feel like traveling, the 300 Acre Recreation Lake at Lake Monticello is awesome. I’ve done videos at all of these locations and are in the SC FISHING SPOTS playlist, so feel free to check them out there. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
