You're a legend!! I was just rewatching some of your old videos. I received a pile of parts just two days ago for my Ducati 748 and am planning to undertake a build similar to your race bike. I've acquired the oil cooler, Ohlins suspension, a mono subframe, and some 5-spoke wheels. Additionally, I have a low-mileage 748 engine that I intend to install while I work on rebuilding the original motor of the 748. I have a question: do you happen to know what the 'E8' stamping on the heads means? If this new engine features a different cam compared to a standard 748, it might complicate things. I presume I'll need to invest in a power commander as well? Anyway, I wanted to express my gratitude for being such a huge inspiration for me to purchase my first Ducati and, more recently, my latest acquisition, an 851. I'm looking forward to embarking on this new build. and watching the build you're doing with Lamb Chops.

Sounds like you have an interesting build ahead of you, glad my channel is of help to you 🙂 Not sure what the E8 stands for, I would imagine its just a standard head.

For racing/track use do you recommend different crank or rod clearances than stated in the manual? I’d think looser if anything, but perhaps that’s incorrect.

I dont mess around with the big end oil clearance, not worth it from a reliability point of view. However I personally run a little less preload on the main bearings for my race engine builds.
