Uncle Harry, Bless your overheating heart, thanks so very much for again letting us ride along on for most of us an adventure of a lifetime. If I am honest, which I offton fall well short, part of any Lambo tour of the old country must include standing partly by the side of the road(hood up,head down) now 5 or 6 sweating, scratching and staring well wishers alongside the sympathetic few, those that know and those that knew. Deep pockets are required when the Lambo lifestyle CC bill comes due.

This was really nostalgic! My father was fortunate he owned not one but two Espadas. A red S2 and a super beautiful navy blue S3 (Still one of my favourite cars to this day). Sadly I don't know what has become of them, so the end of the video was particularly bitter-sweet, I hope they're still of that number that are still used and loved today. But at the same time I couldn't help but laugh when the car kept breaking down, the old S2 was just as problematic! Brought back lots of memories of being stranded. 😂😅

Just catching up with older videos, and this reminded me of a road trip I did with my daughter just after one Christmas from Auckland to Wellington, some 650kms in an Alfa Romeo 166. I noticed the temperature gauge was a bit high before Christmas but no workshops could do anything and a bit of wishful thinking it would be ok. It was ok until we hit holiday traffic some 160 kms from home, we stopped a couple of times to allow it to cool and decided to make it to next town. So this video reminded me of the rather stressful trip, watching the temperature, turning on heater and windows down, hoping no damage to the engine. We decided to leave the car at the township and got Mrs to pick us up, return to Auckland and go again next day in the family car. Turned out issue was head gasket wasn't OEM so my garage paid for most of cost of replacement and fortunately no engine damage. Italian cars...

Part of the charm of owning vintage sports cars (especially vintage Italian sports cars) are the quirks and niggles and whatnot that come along with even the most sorted cars. It's great to see it in the hands of someone like Harry, who doesn't overreact or blow a fuse (pun intended) but simply takes it in stride. Besides if you are going to break down in a vintage Lamborghini, what better place to do it than down the road from the factory! As usual, fantastic video Harry! I love the Espada and it's great seeing it finally start to get the respect it deserves after being one of the most underappreciated cars (in design and performance) of it's era. Cheers mate!

The tension of running a classic car over any distance, especially up a hill in a hot climate, was captured beautifully by Harry's furrowed brow! The tip about using the heater brought it all back to me.... kids today don't know what it was like!! I think Colin Chapman stole some styling lines from the Espada for the Elite/Eclat/Excel models. That poor Espada 😅 At least she made it through on one leg lol. Don't know if you've ever seen the American Comedian Adam Carolla's Lamborghini Islero, it's a fine light shade of metallic blue, but I always pictured an Espada in that type of blue with a tan or cognac interior, and after all the overheating troubles your red one has had....if it's not the original red.... maybe consider a respray 😂 (joke, but man that Espada would look killer in something light metallic like that)
