excellent clear video, will certainly swap my long trunnions for Oiltek simply to help increase cable life to save screwing around roadside with cables. Riding in London traffic means multiple gear changes per minute !

Hey Thanks for another fun vid. Scooter Centre recommend :' Three lead balls (to be smashed flat with hammer)'. Funny that! ;)

Yup. I didn't see that you are supposed to flatten the lead balls and I am an average scooterist, so probably not the first to not do so 😂 I'll give that a try because otherwise they are quite well thought out although a 12mm spanner isn't normally something I carry on the scooter, I do have a small adjustable.

This has literally saved me a whole evening of wondering and searching which trunnions to buy for Oddbod (muwhahaha)! Many thanks and great vid Rob!

Thanksfor the great comparison's on these, I ordered the SIP one's ready for my rebuld (could be a mistake now I've seen this), just noticed that on my new swivel, the hole in the Top Hat does not go down dep enough in order to thread cable through, so looks like I will have to enlarge the cable hole a bit more...................Bugger !!!

Good review rob I’ve used the mb ones for a few years and thought they were the best I will be ordering some oiltec ones now cheers mate

In my opinion the best gear swivel is the self-lubricating Stratos one.

I've used mb ones for years. Been using the streight jackets now for a few years and they are the brilliant. Self lubricating metal, if used as per the instructions which I admit I didnt at first then they 100% dont damage the cable and the fact that you can use the spanner in both directions is really handy if you are as blind as me and have banana fingers 😉 plus as they are the original design then they need to get full points. Kit should however have come with a streight jacket sticker 🤔

I didn't actually get any instructions with them. Nice Items and the first with the top hat design.

Rob, as far as the Straight Jackets are concerned, you are supposed to flatten the lead ball into a disk with a hammer before installing, per the instructions. This greatly reduces the deformation of the cable after tightened.

Haha, who reads instructions 🙈

Great video Rob. Always put up with deformed cables. But not any more!
