I've been pretty consistent with my cycle prior to the last four months. As I look over my calendar now, since October of 2021, my cycle has been all over the place: 23 days, 31 days, 28 days, 18 days, and now it'll be 38 days tomorrow since I've had my last period. I don't mind missing the period for that long, though I don't like how it now just comes at all different times,...have to always be prepared. I'm 46 years old. I'm kind of happy on one hand,...just don't want to experience these mood swings and weird sleep patterns on and off. I can even deal with THAT, but the way I hear people talk about those sweats,...I hope I NEVER experience THAT (I hear some people don't,...I hope I'm one of them).

Hey Charlene! A popular IUD nearly "got me". Thankfully my doctor understood it was an emergency-she insisted it was a battle of hours. She did admit docs were and had been discouraged to believe the iud could cross the brain barrier. 🧠 Bless the women who have a great time with it, and bless the docs willing to listen to their patients despite being told "it can't happen." Of course anything could do this to a certain person, but I encourage medical peeps to listen to patients stories. They get buried on the search engines but many "groups" on fb. Totally not against successful meds, I'm pro open minded docs.:)

This was great. thank you. I'm about to turn 37. Since the end of last year I've developed pmdd. My periods always come a few days early now and have done so for a few years. I have high dhea-s. I'm on the birth control patch but I hope to get on a low dose combo pill soon. My estrogen/progesterone ratio showed me estrogen dominant. Maybe I'd be OK off the bc and just doing some progesterone cream. I have no idea. I'm going to see an endocrinologist soon. My womens health clinic doc won't even tell me I'm in peri. She just says my levels look fine and takes my early periods as nothing. There is definitely something going on. Intense anxiety, depression making me want to off myself, night sweats, severe tension during ovulation and swelling in my neck and bone pain. My mother was in menopause by 45.

What I notice also is that the pms symptoms are lasting longer before the mense flow. The majority of the month is spent in emotions, agony, cramps, and headaches.

My recent cycles have been 27, 25, 29, 24 and right now a 30. The period runs 4 days which is less than it used to. Unfortunately can’t do HRT as it is unsafe for ppl with heart rhythm issues. On top of that I have CFS/ME so I already have a doubly horrid experience around hormone fluctuation. Like death warms up. With issues of dismissive diagnosis (for CFS/ME) and the pending peri/menopause it looks like I’m stuck with this bum note, I don’t know how I will support my self in my later years. Get it checked out!! I am 40. I recently started spotting a day or two when I ovulate, but I am not getting extra periods. I had to change my diet, stop drinking alcohol, take daily walks, lift weights, and drink herbal tea to manage the pain and flooding of my cycle. I am now 49 and have not had a cycle since 10/21 and no more pain, but I still have night sweats, hot flashes, and crying spells. I had a lot of anxiety and panic attacks and trembling in the mornings, and it felt just like morning sickness. It is not uncommon for the very beginnings of perimenopause or the very first changes to start in the late thirties. I developed basically severe PMS. Please also note if you have migraines with aura (ocular migraines), you can't take birth control with estrogen because you will be at risk of stroke.

I did not know this! I had migraines with aura (didn't know what it was called) in my early teens. I started taking birth control when I was 20. I have taken them for about 25 years except for pregnancy and I did have an IUD after my 2nd pregnancy. I probably should never have been on birth control pills! Where did you find that information at?

@@yellowiris123 I randomly mentioned the ocular migraines to my nurse practitioner at my ob GYN office because I thought it was a side effect of my new birth control. She had to check with the doctor but came back and told me I can't take it due to risk of stroke. I later found out (separately, a couple years later maybe) I have a rare blood vessel disorder that puts me at risk of blood clots, stroke and aneurysm, so good thing I spoke up. I guess you are lucky though ! Being at risk doesn't mean you will have it, but you might want to mention it. I could only do progesterone only bc if I go on anything again.

I just turned 51 years old and I think I am experiencing perimenopause symptoms. My gynae found fibroids since five years ago in my uterus. Last year, these fibroids grew significantly, the largest one is 9 cm in diameter, coupled with a few around 6 to 4 cm. My gynae was of the view of removing them as they may have the possiblity to developing to cancer. However, I have read that with menopause, fibroids will strink and if they do not bother me, I can leave them alone. Do you have any advise on this issue?
@kellykellssz
@kellykellssz 2 жыл бұрын
I have fibroids too and my Dr said once you go through menopause (meaning no more periods) then they will shrink but while you’re transitioning your estrogen levels RISE (which help them grow) and decrease. So as long as you’re transitioning they could be growing when your estrogen is up. I’m 49 and know I’m transitioning but don’t know when this crap will stop so every 6 months I see my GYN to check the growth of my fibroids.

Yep! I always had a 25 or 26 day cycle always. It was always 3 days bleed. 2 days off. Then 2 day bleed. Just like my mom I'm 46 in 1 month I've been irregular for 1-2 year now. I missed 1 full cycle in 2019. My last cycle started may 30th. That was a 22 day cycle. My last few cycles for the last 8 months have been 24 day cycle then 26..then 24...then 27...then 24 then 26. I was shocked to see 22 day cycle. And I was NOT tired at all. I usually can tell 2 days before since I'm usually EXHAUSTED 2 days before. Not May 30th! Nope Now my periods are 3 days long. No more 3 days on/w days off/2 days on It's just 3 days. Done! And the mood swings! OMG! Does this get worse? I heard women soak thier bed at night in sweat! Omg ...that's horrible !!

Yes. I've woken up drenched to the point of having to change everything, and sleep on the other side of the bed until the mattress dries. It happened many times. I've even had to blow-dry underneath my hair because it was wet from sweat. At one point I got a skin infection because I didn't dry my hair enough in the back and apparently the sweat caused a rash. I also get itchy skin, swollen gums, the list goes on. I am extremely sensitive so I notice everything. I hate being a woman.

but... why do we do hormone replacement therapy? Once we hit menopause, its the natural cycle, why do we prolong it? Yeah, the symptoms suck, while they last? (i say this as a 45 yr old just starting to see perimenopause)
@sexygabby30
@sexygabby30 2 жыл бұрын
Lots of women are suffering thus the reason why the uterus has to be taken. Hormone replacement is the better road. It may even stave off having that procedure. It’s not just as easy as stating “ OH YOUR HAVING SYMPTOMS AND YOU DEAL WITH IT “ type of thing nowadays or over the last 60 yrs when you are affected to the point you can’t even be productive that is never a normal transition. So that’s why unfortunately.
