I've landed all of those 7 tricks in SMS1. I am trying to master 'em really good. What i'm doing is this: 7 tricks, 7 days in the week. Each day, I go out to skate, and I attempt 100 tries of the trick, and I mark on my phone how many i landed. Like, today is BS180's day and I landed 44 out of 100. So tomorrow, it's Pop Shove It day. I'll do this until I can land them with a 75% rate.

It pressured me to land tricks and I got the confidence to land them after. Even when I'm trying to learn a new tricks and I'm always sticking, I play games of skate and try to use that trick.

Well, Christopher... I started skating last year, in my hometown, where many of my friends skate. This year i moved into a really small town, where i go to college now. Here, there is no skatepark, and i know no one who skates. But skating by myself is kinda boring, so I use this as a motivation to learn and master my tricks, so on the weekends, when i go to my hometown, i can skate better with my friends.
@ChaingrindersMotovlogs10 жыл бұрын
It's awesome to go skate with Your friends. Sometimes it inspires me for new tricks and the "competition" in a game of skate for example. But sometimes I also have to go skate for my own like when I want to learn a new trick, so I dont get distracted by funnier things or so...

I'm not entirely convinced the skategod has been keeping up. Didn't Lance ollie over a knee-high stack of wooden planks a little while back? It's way easier to do it like Aaron and land on the front truck (back truck when switch), while following through with your back foot (going switch or fakie after). Lance just throws the 180, it will look more clean if you kind of pivot it. Also, it will increase the height of the 180.

Just gonna say right now, I fucking suck at skateboarding, and I'd like to put in a skate support, but I don't have a camera :c I've been skating for over 8 years now(started in middles school, quit in high school, picked it back up last summer), and I STILL can't ollie consistently. I can ollie up and off curbs, but the thing is, it sucks. My ollies royally suck. Been doing ollie, after ollie, after ollie, watching skate support videos, ollie tutorials, yet I still can't do them well. My ollie up curbs is more like me lifting the front end up from the pop and when I slide my foot up, it just kinda pulls the back end up over the curb. I learned how to FS 180, pop shuv, half cab, nollie, power slide, boneless, heelflip(not consistent), kickflip(not consistent), and double flip(not consistent). Yet I still can't ollie right... Its so frustrating I could punch myself. I would REALLY love to start learning grind tricks, but I can't as long as my ollies are as shitty as they are. Come to Columbus and do a live skate support with me please :c
@raversmash10 жыл бұрын
something that really worked for me is holding onto a rail and trying to get the motion down and then repeating it while rolling or stationary without holding on to something. Practice while holding on every day to get the muscle memory and then just try to replicate it without holding on. You'll be ollieing up nebches in no time.
@lilchunnky7810 жыл бұрын
Here's a tip: Just ride your board around and really, really, really get comfortable skating and once you got that down your board control will obviously improve making your ollies more higher etc.
@WIZA32710 жыл бұрын
lilchunnky78 But I can ride really well already. When I was skating in middle school/freshman high school, I went to an indoor skate park in Canton where I learned great board control when moving. I can drop in, ride in a path in a bowl, I can do spine transfers, rock n' roll and rock to fakie, I can ride with one foot off the board, sex change, etc. I got riding down. Theres gotta be something Im missing in the ollie, but I don't know what. I can ollie better switch than I can normal. I'm so fucked up haha.
@SinProductions10 жыл бұрын
WIZA327 You're probably not committing to the trick as you would for the other tricks. It probably embedded in your muscles to do the ollie the incorrect way, than you learned when you did it switch. Or, you're just not sliding, popping, or jumping correctly. It can only be a issue with your technique, since you already have the riding basics down. You can't just blame it on "you didn't skate for so long", because you would have eventually picked it up by now. When I quit and came back, I could still ollie as high as I could before (it took like a few days to get back though). TLDR; It's all in your technique, time is not your issue.
@WIZA32710 жыл бұрын
coolio3231 I think so too, but damn I have no idea how to fix it. I've been practicing it sooo so much, yet it doesn't get better. Maybe I'm rushing into it too much. Guess I gotta go to the basics of just standing there with it popped and sliding my foot up the board for 10 minutes straight lolol.
@ThisOldSkater10 жыл бұрын

Aaron actually doesn't turn his head at all. He just keeps looking forward, so I don't really know what he means.
