Great resume Colin. I don’t know if it happens to you, but when I finish a project and I look backwards to see what I did, I become lazy and think i wouldn’t do it again. Then comes another project and I forget about it, plus there is always things to adjust, remake, improve,…. Personally I would appreciate more videos driving it, but to see it from outside the car to see how it looks Great job, you deserve another beer or two

Nice wrap on an absolutely brilliant build. I’ve really enjoyed seeing it happen. Your video & editing skills are nearly as good as your amazing fabrication, welding and design abilities. A pleasure to watch a master at work. The safety beers were a crack up! Sorry THC didn’t give you as much running as you would have liked. It always takes a few events to get a new build sorted. My 2600 still isn’t there! Must talk to you at some point to see if your Panhard rod concept (as seen on Jeff’s Alfarrari) could be adapted for the 2600. Similar rear end. Same issue with roll centre. Till then, good luck. Can’t wait to see the Stratos unleashed in Tassie!
@105colin2 жыл бұрын
Yea we knew it was going to be a battle, but we had a great time anyway, was so good to be back rallying again. No worries sure something similar could be done to the 2600. Yea madly getting ready for Tassie, can't wait

@105colin2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, yea few things, incomplete ignition map caused some over heating, and a few suspension issues, I'll do a video of the problems soon, unf they took a long time to fix so we missed a lot of stages, but it was a weapon when it was going

Great job, Colin! A couple of questions, as I’m planning my own Stratos replica. I know you said you used an MR2 radiator. I’m assuming from an MR2 Turbo? My Alfa V6 should have about 265hp; I want to have plenty of cooling capacity. Also, have you tested the suspension updates yet?
@105colin7 ай бұрын
Thanks mate, yea the latest rad is from a MR2 spyder i think, its a 3 pass one the original one I used was only 2 pass and was marginal at best, plus upgraded to bigger water pumps. Water cooling is good now, Oil cooling was still a problem and have added a massive oil cooler at the back of the car where i had the diffuser. The original engine had a decent oil cooler from the factory so i think oil temp is an issue with these engines. I have tested the suspension updates, they made a good improvement, and the car is much more predictable we've since discovered that the factory pickup points of the hawk induce some rear bump steer, was an easy fix, just had to move the trailering arm inboard point 20mm closer to the chassis rail, haven't tested that one, but should be further improvements.
