Got a call for a Land Rover down in Elephant Hill in Canyonlands. It was just passed SOB Hill and had broken the rear differential. So we went in to pull it out. Luckily it still had front wheel drive so it could help when we needed it. Got it out and back on the trailer and hauled it back to Moab and got it to a shop for repairs. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

I love how you teach while giving them experience doing it. You do it in a good way so they are encouraged and learn without even knowing theyre being taught. Guiding, rather than just telling. You do it well. Also that guy might have a heart attack when he watches this and sees how close he was to the edge. Luckily he had good trust in you and listened and followed immediately. Took me awhile to start breathing again after that. Lol. Those trails are no joke!

I like the idea that you let the vehicle owner drive out. You made a very valid point that it would be a good lesson and may help in the future. Some people just don't understand. It's not as easy as it looks. Sometimes. Another great video! Thanks guys! Happy thanksgiving!

Beautiful scenery! Thank you for showing us all that while we also get our fix of rock crawling, horsepower, growling engines, your humor, saving people and their rigs, taking care of the land, and shenanigans. That tight squeeze reminds me of a trip to England where one of the alleys our English family took us down was just a couple inches wider on either side than the minivan we were in. The proximity alarms were jangling the whole time. They didnt make roads very wide in the 17th century. Lol.

Based on your suggestion, re the 10ft. green Yankum rope, ( weeks back), I picked one up, thanks. In Sept., atop EH, we waited for 2.5 hours, for 3 stock trucks to get up; we pulled 2 up the steep pitch with a rope. The second truck driver told us, the night before they spent 4.5 hours getting three vehicles through the right angle atop SOB hill & camped in the dark on the road above that. You do a remarkable job getting vehicles out that 'tricky' terrain & you show the beauty of the country too. The LR driver has to very grateful for your aid & assistance.

I'm a subber from Scotland. I'm a land rover fan. I saw the title and got excited to see the 1st landy recovery in a long time (possibly ever because I've gone back in your videos and didn't see any). I just wish we could get the big V8s you guys have although our fuel prices would require a mortgage to run them.

Hello from another Land Rover fan in Devon, I was excited to see the first Land Rover on the channel too! I have a 90 with a 6.2 LS3 which is considerably better on fuel than a rover v8. Gentle cruising it almost matches the old 200tdi for mpg.

I'm an American that lives right down from the Rubicon trail, been driving Land Rovers since the 1980's as my daily drivers / wheeling rigs, started swapping Chevys into them in the early 1990's Yes, the Chevys get better fuel economy by far than the old 4 cylinders, sixes and that fragile Buick alloy V8. And yes, they can sometimes beat the 200 / 300 Tdi . I drive an LS swapped 1958 series I daily. @@AlexLR

Hello from another US based rover fan. He has had a few other rovers, though never as the main recovery in a video, usually a secondary one. I currently have a project rover with a rover V8 under the hood and i do sort of wish for the 300tdi from one across the pond.

@@timmcooper294 Are you willing to tell us more about your LS series 1? What transmission, transfer, axles are in it? If they're original axles, how many have you broken? I've broken 2 rear axles in my old series 2A so I know they wouldn't be happy with an LS behind them. Cheers.

Even though the Land Rover engines are smaller capacity they still have an inordinate thirst for gasoline with a corresponding lack of power. I had for many years a Range Rover classic, 11-13 mpg was the best fuel consumption I ever got on a good day, terrible but a nice car when it was working right.

Rory, when you’re talking about taking a narrower rig through the squeeze THAT Is a very good reason for NOT having an absurd amount of wheel spacers on a rig. Plus those ridiculous big spacers tend to cause a large amount of undue wear and tear on wheel bearings amongst other components. Excellent job in doing what you do!
