excellent engine block gasket & head installation then cam shaft installation # ❤️ but i couldn't understand how U correlate cylinders measurement with the thickness of the gasket # ❤️🇵🇰

I've always been a lazy bugger and automatically fit the thickest gasket to my Landys....I figure that a very slight loss of compression is favourable to a valve shaped dent in my pistons
@dawidxcom6233 Жыл бұрын
better check becouse some aftermarket pistons can have different hight and hit even with thickest head gasket

This video has proven invaluable for me. I'm going todo a head gasket, what would you say I'd need in terms of parts? Also I've got the mechanics manual, and there doesn't seem to be a head gasket replacement section. Do I have to follow the manual engine rebuild instead?

Hi thank you for making these videos. Im currently working on the same engine have run into an issue. My cams wont turn by hand once torqued. Are my cams bent or is the head the issue?

Noticed there was an anaerobic sealant around the bolt holes of the cam carrier when I took it off. I suppose not required?

What did you do about the valve stem seals ?

Hi Nigel. I understand about the torque to a nut but I don’t understand about turning the bolts by an addition amount of degrees. What the differences? Wooden torquing the bolt to a higher setting achieve the same thing?
@defender90keswick.nigelsla593 жыл бұрын
Hi Alain. I tried to explain in the video. The way I see it is that friction of thread/ head face can play a part in the torque required when going stupid tight. So, going to an angle ensures the correct clamping force across all bolts. I have experienced some bolts turning easier than others, if I went to torque the “looser” bolts would go in further.

The clock is actually called a dti gauge. I pissed off because found out I got this job coming up
@defender90keswick.nigelsla592 жыл бұрын
Yes, but everyone calls it a clock. Do you DTI something true? No, you clock it true. Even in Rolls Royce we call them "clocks".

I did not look at early videos if your pistons and bores are OK why did you end up rebuilding the engine?
