A “responsible” P180 pilot always removes the Static Wicks from the forward wing and removes the nose LG pin on post flight……which this gentleman did! 👍

@@itsoliviarmstrong The Static Wicks (two) are located on the trailing edge of the forward wing. Curiosity seekers who looking at this A/C will NOT see the wicks and accidentally break one off with their body. The Nose Gear pin MUST be removed before the A/C is towed to prevent damaging the steering mechanism! I was a Demo Pilot for Piaggio America years ago and accumulated over 1400 hours in this plane.

It is an older P180 ! If I had to buy a jet I would go for the P180 the best of both worlds not same fast than a real jet but almost and the cost of an normal turobo prob ! One of the greatest planes ever made ! efficiant and fast !

Solid plane biggest issue is lack of range and range extension options. I understand they make military variants with 2000 NM they need to release those to the public as modification options.

I believe this aircraft has about the same shaft horsepower and speed/flight envelope as the WW2 single seat P51 but is much larger and heavier. I believe it has more range. Amazing aerodynamics. Could be the turbines hold power at altitude better than a Merlin also.

I'm curious as to what deicing protection the aircraft has. Didn't see anything on the canard or the wings. I know it has inlet protections. Thanks.

@@SirDrifto After a little sleuthing I found this: Along with the wings, the engine inlets and wing leading edge are deiced by bleed air; the tail does without, as do the props, which are heated directly by the engine exhaust blowing over them. I suspected it but was't completely sure. My company has given thought to making heated engine inlets for these aircraft. We make other deice systems for many aircraft. Thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work on the vids. Very informative.
