This week I had to land the Cirrus on my smallest ever runway, one that's the same size as the taxiways, thanks to an unwelcome amphibian occupying the main runway.

The turtle was the star of the day. Great landing and thankfully the turtle has decided on another place to be. You have mastered another feat in flying..short runways.

In both this and the Houston to Galveston vids., the tower at Hooks seams to be professional and at the same time have a sense of humor. That's fun to see. 🙂

Always fun to watch another Cirrus pilot. Don't know if it's been brought up to you, but that seat belt is designed to be buckled and tightened down at your waist, like a belt. Safe flying to you!

As far as I recall, you never tried Netherthorpe (EGNF) near to your old base Gamston. Now that is a small runway!!!

Noel, Kelsey from 74gear was originally from your neck of the woods. I would love to see you take him up to fly with you. Or even Stella.

Noel, if you're ever out flying on the west coast someday and want a great steak and a narrow runway, stop in at Harris Ranch (3O8). Your wingspan will almost certainly exceed the runway width which is only 30 feet! Great restaurant on site though - in fact, I'd say it's more of a restaurant with an airport than an airport with a restaurant. It's a fun rest stop for north/south routed California flights and they also have 100LL.

I got impressed. By that landing pretty narrow runway. You must have been realy stressed coming in to land.

Awesome! I've just started my instrument there too. In the C182 right now as the SR20 is broken :( Hope to see you around!

How much does it cost to rent a plane? When I lived in a rural area, our neighbor's son was a pilot for Frontier Airlines who flew from the East Coast US to London. He & his dad rented a plane & flew over our houses & took photos. They didn't tell us they were doing this & it terrified me that a plane was buzzing my house! .............. Perfect landing!! You aced it! The only thing I understood was that there was a turtle on the runway. Guess he was trying to get up close & personal with a plane! I can't imagine being a flight controller. I once thought that would be fun....nope, don't think so!

The SR20 is $235 an hour. The others are cheaper but also older. Thanks for the kind words :)

Thanks for the video, Noel. ICAO recommends that ATC transmissions should not exceed 100 words per minute. American controllers speak a lot faster than that.

Wonderful video as always. I’ve had go around for dogs, deer, coyotes, cats, but not a turtle yet in Texas for me! Question, what sim did you use to generate the 35R image?
