Words to the wise...if you have a rental property, and are not a slum lord, then include yard maintenance and water in the rental cost. The property will look better, the home/yard will last longer since problems are found sooner...like foundation issues, drainage/water problems, pest prevention, etc. The Tennant will be more likely to keep the interior nice as well. And landlord can get all the tax benefits.

I can never understand why landlords do this. It's not the renters property. Why would you expect them to put out the cost of maintaining a property that doesn't belong to them? Add it into your yearly cost and take care of your investment.
@jenniferbrandel96222 жыл бұрын
Many renters have never owned a home and learned how to care for a property. However, the idea that your tenants are going to hire contractors to maintain your asset is crazy. No one cares about the property as much as you do! Weedy block pavement in the UK seems like a very minor issue to get angry over
@tatiannazutania77512 жыл бұрын
This is why we include lawn/property service when we lease our properties. We learned long ago tenants don't take care of the yard.

Know of lots of landlords who delay repairs and employ cheap, clueless trades for repairs that end up becoming problems again. Bad landlords, create unhappy tenants. A good agent who conducts appropriate inspections should pick up on potential problems.
@tatiannazutania77512 жыл бұрын
@@davidh.7571 I agree. We always hired a real contractor, when our places needed repairs. You get to write a lot of that off. I've never understood slum landlords. In the long run, they're only letting THEIR property go to ruin.

Not a criticism, just want more of your videos!! Spectacular results Nick, lovely!! We don't have much block paving here in Texas, but I was wondering if you ever use Epsom salts mixed with the sand to prohibit weeds? I'm not a big fan of chemical weed killers and have great results with Epsom salt! No worries about it leeching into areas as it is a huge boost to plant and grass root systems. Listen to me rambling on...fabulous work for the landlord Nick! Loved this one! All the best Nick!!

Hi Sandi, didn't think you were criticising, you're always super kind and friendly, with helpful comments. The weed killer i used on this was just table salt, dissolved in water. I find it very effective at killing little weeds that have been damaged by pressure washing, and seems quite good at keeping the weeds at bay. I've not tried Epsom salts mixed with the sand. It's really interesting to hear that. Might have to give it a go. Cheers Sandi, top lady.

Yes I understand that to be norm. But this particular landlord specifically had it in writing, as part of the rental agreement, that the outside areas were to be well maintained. @danajhasalvegas58192 жыл бұрын
Nice power blast it up job! So do you use a over spray to retard weed growth prior to responding? IS it a polymeric sand as we have in the states? Incorrect, it has nothing to do with how it was put down. It’s perfectly normal for weeds to grow in block paving. There’s nothing anyone can do about it, except weed kill on a regular basis.
@lauralake7430 Жыл бұрын
Block paving just has a gravel and sand base, no concrete, so that it drains well and prevents flooding. Thats why its a better choice than concrete in a wet climate, as well as prettier. So, yes, weed seeds can lodge in the sand in the cracks and sprout. If they had concrete right up to the wall of the house, and there wasnt perfect drainage, the house wall and foundation could suffer from damp and even subside
