@@patrickcox292 Hi Patrick, I would actually recommend a new one. I carried out this repair firstly because it was the start of the weekend and a new tank wouldn’t arrive until after the weekend, also new I was able to carry out the repair and I thought it might be a good idea to make a KZbin video of the process. Pleased you found it entertaining. 👍 PS your old tank will be great to practice your welding on. 😊 If you haven’t purchased a new tank yet there are some links in the description. They are affiliate links so I will earn small amount at no extra cost to you.

Thanks Nick, it turned out to be worth the effort. They are great vehicles, they come with some issues but are straight forward to work on on and parts are reasonably priced.

Bravo job. The welding tig or mig Is Better.

Thank you Eduardo, yes I completely agree Tig or Mig is better. unfortunately I don’t have a Tig set, (on my wish list) I do have a Mig but my son has it on “permanent” 😉 loan at the moment. So I have to make do with what I have and it does the job fine.

Man, I only make this comment to help someone, and not to knock your effort in any way. I would not recommend doing this. If the rust has not been neutralized completely, it will keep rusting. Any rust particles that get stuck in any of the 3 valve blocks (each has 3 valves) will cause you headaches that will be very tricky to diagnose, and will end up costing more than just replacing that tank in the first place. Buy once, cry once. This is a potential nightmare for the next owner because those problems won't show up right away.

Why didn’t you tell me that before I repaired it 😉 (only joking)😁 I agree with everything you said, but it was the weekend I needed the vehicle and quickest I could get one was in three to four days. I had the weekend materials and ability to get the job done. I did contemplate all the issues you mentioned but opted to repair it. And it made a good video 😁. It was still going fine a year and half later. Hope you enjoyed watching. 🙂👍
