‘’How’s your day going?” Russian dude: “Normal” That seems like such a Russian thing to say.
@id158079365 жыл бұрын
Well that translate is not accurate, Russian "normalno" is more like "ok" rather than "normal", "normal" would rather be "obichno" and no one says it because it's as weird as saying "normal" in English (I mean in the case when someone is asking "how are you"). But people(especially Russians when they don't know English so good) often translate "normalno" as "normal" because they sound almost the same even though they have not exactly the same meaning. Seems like that's the case when English speaking dude don't know Russian good enough.
@indja695 жыл бұрын
@@id15807936 Код нас је нормално - нормално, а ОК је добро :) Greetings from serbian guy :D
@leonne075 жыл бұрын
@@id15807936 Yep, that would be correct, but more precise explanation is the following: "Normalno" is like "I'm good" in English, but is literally translated as "normally", due to the utilization of the question in Russian that is " Kak dela" or "How are the things", and not "how are you", like it would be used in English. Hence, that kind of answer - " it's all good".

@ItsQuaezzy There's nothing bad or good per se, it's just lost history for sentimental reasons. If they don't mind, cool, it's still a lost identity nonetheless. Why are you going on a diatribe talking about the negatives of some cultures as if those are the only traits of culture? Who said you need to take those along if you want to keep your culture? How in the fk did you go from the subject of speaking one's own heritage language to Ludites, homophobia and misogyny? Wtf?! The comment transcribes video of kid unable to speak his own language, I state a fact of that kid losing some of that culture, and you done lost your damn shit over that?!?? Next time we talk about food, you gonna bring up child abuse and homophobia too? Finding out that my idol died exactly one year ago breaks my heart.. He was the person who inspired me into learning Russian, watching all of his videos just awed my over and over and it still does about how insanely good he was at learning and teaching others languages. Although i don't understand russian yet, i can read sentences and translate it. Without Moses' videos i would never find the inspiration to learn a whole different alphabet let alone a new language. You'll always be in my memories as the most inspiring youtuber i've ever watched. Your spirit will forever live through these videos, inspiring lots of people for years to come to take up a new language and learn. You will forever be missed 😥

The first thing you should probably try to do is, of course, learn hiragana and katakana, don't put that off for a second, and find a list of the most common Japanese words used on a daily bases, and learn those. At the same time, watch Japanese Ammo on KZbin, she'll teach you all the grammar and different ways to say things in different situations, though you may have to look other places for certain things. JapanesePod101 is of course good to have, but it shouldn't by any means be your primary source. Make your own kanji dictionary, updating it as you go, and if you find anything that confuses you, immediately try to look it up and figure it out so it won't hold you back. Good luck 👌

Jan Man perhaps in Polish. but when speaking Russian he seems alright (though not amazing) and when i’ve heard him speak German his sentences were quite good. but even so, not great. i think he just has more time to practice Chinese dialects and those languages etc because he lives in a city where there are many immigrants from such regions. the channel isn’t being falsely advertised, he isn’t claiming to be fluent in such European languages, and he’s actually a hell of a lot better with pronunciation in Russian than i would expect. though the accent is *very* heavy.
