LAPD Officers Enforce Vehicle Removal During Rose Avenue Homeless Cleanup

Venice, Los Angeles - May 28, 2024: On Tuesday, during the weekly homeless cleanup operations on Rose Avenue, Los Angeles Police Officers were chalking tires with the date of several parked cars that may have been stationary for some time. These cars must be moved within 72 hours or they will be subject to towing.
This homeless cleanup is part of a collaborative effort targeting a homeless encampment on Rose Avenue in Venice. The task force included Los Angeles Police Officers, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and the office of Councilwoman Traci Parks' Homelessness and Housing Coordinator.
The operation underscores the city’s commitment to addressing homelessness while improving public health and sanitation.

You're leaving out some of the story. California doesn't tow vehicles for out of date registration. Your employee must have been driving without a license or something else besides registration to get your car towed.

I was wondering how they are allowed to get away with having abandoned looking cars on the street. I watch videos of kids getting pulled over and cars towed and ticketed for a modified exhaust. Cops open the hood and check to make sure the correct air filter is installed.

I think if they would keep their vehicles and the area clean they wouldn't be ran off as much. Don't put anything outside the vehicle. That's a dead giveaway when you pile crap on top of your vehicle and all around it. And it's an eyesore. Also don't stay in one spot too long. Don't look homeless. I was thinking put parking meters or permit parking only would solve the issue. I live in a beach town and the entire town requires a parking permit to park on any street. On the strip it's no overnight parking, 2hr parking limit at the meters, or there's big parking lots with machines that you buy parking passes from.

I lived in my car for ten years in Valley n I was classified as a "functioning homeless" because I got up 6am left spot gym (10 bucks month) shwrd handled business went park beach(public trans) went bck spot 6 7 pm repeat next day. Never turned to drugs til finally an angel fibbed to get me sec 8 n apt. These drug addicts get help long before a senior that had contributed to society for 45 yrs. Yet they fight all the help .
