This duet was ranked amongst the french favorites of the last 50 years and reached #2 in french charts. I knew you would love this subtle but impressive long tunnel of harmonies. This is the anthem of the friendship between Lara and Maurane, another belgian singer and one of Lara’s youth friends. When Maurane died abruptly from a heart stroke in 2018, Lara was left devastated. The guitarist is Jean-Felix Lalanne, ww famous classical guitarist and at that time the boyfriend of Lara. On May 7, 2018, Maurane was found dead at her home in Schaerbeek (Brussels, Belgium). The next day, the Brussels public prosecutor confirmed the opening of a judicial investigation, although the singer's death "is not considered suspicious due to the intervention of a third party25". On June 15, 2018, a month later, the prosecution closed the case without further action “for lack of offense. No third party intervention was noted. The death was of accidental cause26", de facto excluding suicide and the hypothesis of a natural death. The autopsy concluded that it was a death due to internal bleeding, a possible consequence of a heavy fall in his bathtub following consumption of medication(s)26 and the prosecution states that “no further comments or details will be communicated”27. On July 15, Maurane's daughter succinctly explained to the newspaper Le Parisien that her mother had a fall and that she did not want to say more.

Btw i saw that you reacted to several french artists already so if you want to discover another incredible one, you shoud listen to Véronique Sanson's live performances of Amoureuse, Ma révérence, Le maudit or her amazing cover of Quelques mots d'amour at the Victoires de la musique (song written by Michel Berger and dedicated to her that she interpreted as a tribute after he passed away). She's a french legend and one of the best and most impactful french artists/musicians...also one of Lara's idols, Elton John's inspirations and Stephen Sills ex wife.
