May I suggest that you start a sourdough starter. Sourdough doesn't raise blood sugar in the body. You can make a lot of products from the sourdough starter. P.s. the children could have a fun time naming the starter.😊😊

My Mumma always let us pick our birthday dinner and cake. I always chose my great aunt Alice’s salmon, pea and au gratin casserole and chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. On Fridays we had what Mum called must goes. Everything she had cooked all week MUST GO!

Yes when i make tacos i always double what i know my family will eat . This way i freeze half and have it all ready for another mexican recipe we enjoy the following week. I did this when I prepared many dishes I'll freeze half . It sure makes it easier on a stressful busy evening

Dear Janice, with all the leftovers you had shown, you can freeze it and add it later to a meal that you make again. I have always done that when I had a family to feed. Janice I am diabetic, so I replace white potato with sweet potato. I still do have white potato occasionally, but there is a trick to it. Leave the potato on your plate until last, as the carbohydrates will break down into sugar slower when the potato is not hot. Also, combine heaps of protein on your plate, as the protein helps to slow the carbohydrates from breaking down.

Our family we hosted from Ukraine taught me how to make it and I always have jars of it in the fridge. You use the last jar to feed the next batch. Whether it is because of different beliefs, ideals or other practices, it is a hard topic to broach.
