Large grid rotor heads can be attached to small grid rotors, but there is no in-menu option to add a large grid head to the small rotor. "Add Small Head" and "Add Large Head" is referring to small grid small 1x1 heads and small grid 3x3 heads. Drop a Large Grid Head above the rotor, and tell the rotor to attach in the menu... if the Head is close enough, it will pop in.

the issue you had with the rotor is you added a 3x3 Small grid advanced rotor head, not a Large grid advanced rotor head, you have to remove the small grid head then drop a large one on top of it then attach it via terminal or build vision

I just looked it up: you can drop a Large Rotor Head on top of your small rotor, if you line it up properly (or pick it up with your mod), it should slot in and you can press Attach in the small rotor’s menu

It might be too late, but the "attach" option on a small grid rotors can attach a large grid rotor head. Also, rovers can jump. Press and hold "X" for a while and then release it. Don't try this without a gyroscope.

For the future, you can connect large grid blocks to small grids by putting a rotor on a large grid block, then attach the small rotor head to it put a merge block on it, and then just put a merge block on the small grid, and attach them together.

Suggestion for the larger grid vehicle: "The Yamcha" because it lies very close to the ground (because LU thinks he still wants to reposition the wheels for clearance) and because it has a large hole through the middle. Also because i'm BETTING it'll explode somewhen in the future and it will be hilarious. Very fun episode. i'm excited to see you build this thing up. My suggestion for functionality would be a sort of "Head" or cockpit part on the front of the vehicle with a 3x3 grid of articulated drills. This way you can drive forward and either clear the way of unwanted terrain formations or simply grind crashlanded wrecks into their constituents. This would also enable you to go the Spaceballs route and name your abomination "The Space Maid" for all the collection and "reaquisition" you plan on doing^^

you got the right idea with the rotor but only the large grid rotor has the ability to add other size rotor heads in the menu for small grid you have to add the large grid rotor head manually

This is now my new favorite series Btw, i wheels dont take damage if you crash so if you just land with all wheels on the ground you can jump of a cliff without damaging the car (if the suspension is too weak the bottom of the car will hit the ground tho)

The english language itself is a wreck. But that said, wreck does not mean any specific type of vehicle, and it can also include structures. It is also a verb as well which is to wreck something. So you can wreck a vehicle into a wreck. There is an older definiton that is specifically for nautical vessels being sunk, but thats rarely used these days.

Have you ever thought about a no-jetpack playthrough? For space based playthroughs you need to use your mag boots, build stairs and dock with a landing foot to get to another ship or jump and risk being lost to the void. And even on a planet based run, it would require you to build scaffolding to build stuff. You could build a mobile scaffolding car or ship that does nothing but allow you to weld other things. Or it would now make sense to build a welding block on a controllable piston.

Best way to understand the Economy system is to start a creative world and trade with all the moon's then see the rep changes. My findings are that every planet has 2-3 faction clans of a General goods, a Miner and a vehicle Station the general Goods Stations are only friends with their cluster but ALSO with each other across the whole star system. This means that all long term trading should only be done with the General goods Stations, to keep the rep between all factions stable and easy to manage.

With the small block 3x3 to large you need a timer block to do it. Cut off rotor head, go to timer block, select 3x3 rotor and select attach for first slot action, then select the timer block for the 2nd slot action and select trigger now. Then go to timer main menu and select trigger now. Now the rotor is in a constant loop of trying to attach a rotor, now you can select the large block advanced rotor head and drop it from above . If the part is properly aligned and you can get it reasonably close it will 'grab' the falling part into place. Then just turn off timer.

2 things, from what i know: 1. Landing gear is locking even if it is not builded. 2. Rotor can be used as way to convert from small to large and frim large to small grid but you need to grind down rotor head and manually drop on it rotor head you want, and after that attach it. In this case adding rotorhead frim menu is nit an option cause it will add the same tyle of rotor head. At least that's how it worked for years, and i don't think it changed.

I had a completely incredible idea that could be just a bit of fun. You know how multiplayer clans will build the huge mining pillars that can mine out an entire ore deposit in like 2 minutes? Why not build a module into your eventual large grid base rover that uses an array of pistons with drills to do something similar, you could park the river over the deposit and just slurp up the whole thing like some malformed mosquito

Just an idea to adress the future issue of transiting the world attaching a pair wheels to a hinge module similar to how tank tracks work should let you overcome the hill terrain and keep your stability as you add mass and size, this also gives you scope to upgrade as you carry on with this play though.

Small suggestion for the production on the large rover, Add all of the power mods you can to lower the power usage, this way 1 solar panel can run either the refinery or the assembler, makes it alot easier to power stuff this way.

@@LargelyUnemployed I did a rover play through a while back, before automatons i think, no drilling allowed, so you had to find and scrap stuff, and no building on the ground. So it had to be mobile, i went with the 5x5 wheels, 2 front and 4 aft, i also added the backup hydro power, but other than that, i had 6 solar panels, 2 on each side and 2 on the top. Meant i would get enough solar to do what i needed to do in the day, You could set up a landing pad on the under side of the rover, so when you lower your suspension, the landing pad can lock down, this will then allow any wind turbines to start working, also would help as backup power and help to stabilize the rig when mining. I have watched number 3 now aswell, and i dont think your drills are going to fit through the gap you have left them, might need to change the blocks around the opening to blast doors, or maybe half blocks, just to give it a little room. i would also put the "share inertia tension" on all pistons rotors and hinges apart from the one connected to the main body of the rover, this will help with keeping the drill steady as it extends down. Piston up, 4 small cargo leading forward, then 2 pistons down, Extend the piston up to full and see how many pistons you can fit in with the drills aswell. This will allow you far more depth than what you currently have, also the extra cargo never hurts. And the spaces on top can be used as weapon mounts, should be able to fit 2 Gatling turrets or maybe even a couple of self made 8x Gatling pods, worth looking into. LOL
