This was absolutely mind blowing to me! Thank you for this explanation, literally until now I never realized that the problem with my backswing has been that I have been focusing on time, angle, and amount of WRIST HINGE, when what I needed to do was find the timing and amount of FOREARM ROTATION! This was a game changer, nay, a life changer for me!

I've played golf for 40 years and have always struggled with pulled iron shots . I've tried everything to rectify this with limited success . Willing to try anything I came across your video and having not seen this approach before I wanted to try it out . ( the late rolling of the left forearm in the backswing with the right palm facing upwards ). Initially just using my upper body and arms in the swing to get a feel of this concept I had instant results even though it felt strange and new to me . The ball path was straighter and sometimes even slightly to the right . The pulled shot instantly vanished . Truly an "Eureka" moment for me . Feeling more confident with this movement I implemented hips and lower body into the downswing for power and wow , great results !! No more conscious thoughts about shallowing the club or wrist hinge , it just happened naturally . My swing has become more fluid, natural and confident . I wish I had come across this concept 40 years ago . I cannot thank you enough Larry for your video and I find it strange that no one else has instructed this concept . Great work Larry , you have taken my enjoyment of the game to a new level !!

This solved so many issues for me with club face control, swing plane and contact issues... IMMEDIATELY. I struggled for a good while with early forearm rotation and as I compared it to your “feel”, I realized this early rotation was leading to over swinging with a massive left wrist cup at the top which made me have to early extend and flip to try and square the club at impact! Eureka! Couldn’t believe how it made it so easy to turn back and through and not worry about the club face squaring up at all! The crispness of impact and ball flight was startling! Haha! Thanks so much Larry!

I’ve been struggling with wrist hinge for years. I’ve adopted this method and now I do t have to think about wrist hinge anymore. Never struck the ball better. Fantastic, thank you.

Great lesson thanks. Answered my query on if there is left arm pronation in the backswing. Pleasantly surprised you gave a great suggestion on how to fix my poor takeaway overly flat backswing. What worked best for me is making sure at P4 that my right elbow is level or above my left. Instantly addresses over rotation and losing spine angle and shoulder tilt.

Thanks a million Larry! I really needed this explained the way you detailed it, along with the full swing demonstration. Should we be doing the exaggerated slow motion swings as part of the rehabilitation process? Can you provide more help with this issue or is the fix as simple as you provided? Just repeat, repeat and repeat? This is certainly my biggest issue and one I think is from lack of good instruction, poor mechanics and bad muscle memory. I have to get this fixed. It’s like the exact reverse of what I should be doing. Thanks!

Larry - love your stuff. Have you done a video about getting the arms back out in front during transition? I tend to have the hands go down, rather than out and can't work out a feel or drill to correct! Keep up the awesome work!

The last 20 percent. When I was playing best on mini tours that's the feeling I had. It felt like near the top my forearms "wrenched" over (rotated). It was an extreme feel but on camera it was such a small movement.

This video actually helped me a lot but it helped me more when you said "no forearm rotation makes it excessively steep"...I needed it excessively steep, now it like shallows on its own and then over time I was able to slightly flatten it It's a really strange feeling. It feels like I'm not turning...but I think the word "turn" was misleading for me, when I hear turn, I think to just flatly turn with my hands basically really low...this feels more like a "tilt while my arms just go straight up"...probably not real but that's the feel

Learn how to waggle the club. This will teach you the correct wrist hinge. As for this video, it’s spot on. However, one must realize that the shallowing of the club (the 20%) is created by the turning of the hips. Don’t ever try to manipulate the club, arms or hands. They cannot be trusted. Do the opposite and create the shallowing and lag by thinking on the lower part of the body instead. Timing and using the ground will improve your swing.

I don't totally agree with your description of forearm rotation. In the vid 36 sec your not bend over properly. I can rotate my forearm indenpendtly of my upper arm rotation which then means my arm comes of my chest. Forearm rotation, if I'm holding my arm straight out - and I do thumbs up 👍 I can rotate my forearm without my upper arm rotating 90 degrees to the left and right. If I on the other hand rotate my thumb 👎 down I need to move my upper arm and this the problem for most golfers. The adress position is not a natural position and forearm rotation is done automatically. If I move my left arm to the right I cannot stop forearm rotation. Reason being, - if I hold my arms straight down my palms are not facing in front of me or to the side of my body. They are facing behind me in a natural position of my arms to be. If i let my arms hang loose and put a club in my hand it would almost be parallell to my target line. You see so many tour pro standing on the tee moving that club behind and in front of them up and down.
