Good day. Nice video, thank you 😊 Looking for a 20 acres piece of agriculture land between Chitre and Las Tablas for semi-retirement. I can speak Spanish and lived for 10 years in Mexico so used to Real Estate in Latam. Also, how do you see Panama canal drought issue consequences on the local economy ? Thank you.

Hi Deborah, Thanks for the detailed and informative video. Super helpful. You’re such a sweet couple. I’ve decided to book a tour with PRG. after watching this 😊 I”m from Seattle too! So it sounds like you’re on the Azuero Peninsula Hornito spoke about in his previous comment? I know a requirement for me is to be within walking distance to the beach.. I love the warm weather but need water nearby to swim and for the breeze. How far is your home from the beach? And can you snorkel in the water there? How warm is it? On another topic: since Panama utilizes the Dollar, are you concerned re the volatility/manipulations still being tied to the currency of the USA? Thank you.
@deborahwalter8672 Жыл бұрын
I would say we are not walking distance. There are two main beaches nearby where you can park or take a taxi. It ranges from a $2 each way visit or $7. One is ten minutes by car, the other is more like 18-20 by car. I think you can snorkel / I see folks swim or play in the further beach often. I would say the average temperature is 80-83* plus or minus five degrees - year round, both rainy and dry seasons. It is pretty great. We share just one vehicle and that works well enough. We used the guide so after your tour, you’ll have access and it’s well worth it. :) still don’t use an umbrella - even being from Seattle - it’s not bad here. Maybe for sun protection !

Thanks for the honest information. International living has the cost of living much lower. This really puts things in perspective from someone actually doing it.

My recommendation would be to ask also negative questions, such as, what do you miss the most from the States, how about family? What is the worst thing for you about Panama? And also interview people who aren't happy and might return. Show the negative side (which every place has) will give you a lot more legitimacy.

I know you have to have a temporary visa to import household goods. Is it the same for using a mail forwarding company to get a pallet in? Or if we want to get a few boxes of items forwarded to Panama address, will they require a temporary visa?
@deborahwalter8672 Жыл бұрын
I think an address or rental agreement was needed. The temp visa was in process and those things were all around the same time but first was using the lawyer &/or realtor to help with the translation for the lease agreement
