Bonjour Ann. Happy to hear that you are feeling a little bit better Ann. Yes Ann, train well and go for a marathon 😀. The first hotel stop looked good. You make me smile everytime Ann. I used to wear heals everywhere when I was young, on trips too I walked on them, they were very comfortable from a Spanish brand that I kept buying, but when I turned 60 I switched to loafers and oxford style shoes with wedge heels, also comfortable, and I choose the patent leather ones, very nice looking, I am not a sneakers person, just when I sport. When you cross the frontier, it's still a loooong ways to get home. France is bigger than Spain, but it is still not the biggest country in Europe, Russia is, France is the third in size, by the way Russia is the largest in the world. Some rest stops are really good and big and others not. Yes the Doghotels/pensions cost a lot of money, we also go pick up our 2 dogs the same day when we arrive. These days our dogs wear their dogcoats because it is too cold. We searched and read reviews about the different dogpensions in our area before we made the final decision, in the beginning they didn't like it, but after a little while they got used to it, and go easily when it is time for us to go on vacation.
