I had external snapping hip when I carried a backpack load but then strengthened the g. Medius and it's completely ok now. A very painful malady.

Does it make any difference if you do the resistance band exercises standing or lying down? I do them lying down. Thanks Tom ❤😊 I do these exercises in the morning and evening.

You can definitely do the hip abduction exercise lying on your side as well. 👍

I’ve had a couple of doctors tell me not to do clamshells with gluteal tendonopathy. What are your thoughts?

Clamshell strengthen the hip external rotator muscles, but they aren’t the best option for targeting the tendons (hip abductors) that attach on the outside of the hip. It isn’t harmful to perform them, but they wouldn’t be the best option for treating gluteal tendinopathy.

Should you do these if really sore down the hip ...I have bursitis and glute tendinopathy, I don't want to go cortisone injection route but it's uncomfortable to even sit

Curious is there is a way to figure out if its hip bursitis or gluteal tendinopathy. I work in a physio clinic as an massage therapist and we see this a lot.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a good clinical test outside of musculoskeletal ultrasound that can differentiate between these two.

Did you even read the video title or description below the video?! Sometimes, you have to use words on the thumbnail that resonate with the general population. If you’ve spent any time working with patients, you would realize that most have no idea what tendinopathy means.
