omigoodness!! tho im afro-latina-caribeña, i grew up in toronto (scarborough to be precise), so all these candies are part of my childhood...except the durian one🍁😍🍬

some people dislike durian due to a genetic factor, as research indicates that variations in olfactory receptor genes can significantly influence how individuals perceive the fruit's strong smell, with some people being genetically predisposed to find the sulfurous compounds in durian particularly unpleasant, while others may be more sensitive to its sweeter notes. Same with cilantro. That’s why some people think it tastes like soap.
