A couple weeks ago I watched him smoke cigarettes on stage for like a fucking hour straight. He could've lit each cigarette with the last (rather than a bic lighter) and easily achieved the very same frequency. He was literally pulling one out of the pack as he put the last one out _all night_ and he still had plenty of time to kill it. The whole show was f'n spectacular. Eventually Dave's voice will be infrasound. His LPs will sound like laugh tracks until you spin them at 78rpm, but they'll need warning labels 'cause by that point his jokes will regularly be fatal. Wars will be fought and won with ear-plugs and pitched-up Chappelle records.

When Chappelle's Show was on in the early 2000s ( I was in my early to mid 20s), we'd all sit down together and watch. There was no On Demand. There was no widespread DVR... in fact, those nuts with TiVo were the outsiders. There was no social media. There was a bunch of friends just watching something funny, together. And, if we were out at a bar or something and Chappelle's Show came on...... everyone (black, white, yellow, brown, pink, whatever the fuck you were) would laugh AND repeat the lines to each other. I'd gladly live in those few years in an infinite loop forever. Best days of my life.
