There needs to be another discussion purely on the ethics of eating animals because that's when it would become obviously clear that there is no moral justification for eating meat. This discussion kind of got bogged down on so many different things right when it was about to become clear that there is a double standard in the way she applies her ethics when differentiating between humans and animals.

Vegan gains was wrong when mentioned Meat eaters and vegan are not healthy as long when eating both Whole Foods. That has been debunked due many inaccuracies from what I saw he’s talking about. Study was done of meat eaters and vegetarians who shop in health food stores and so are, presumably, pursuing healthy lifestyles. result? Both groups were equally healthy, and they lived longer than those who don’t pay so much attention to proper nutrition. This is known as the “healthy eater effect and it explains why it’s so difficult to tease out the influence of any individual food group or nutrient when we’re trying to figure out how to eat healthy. Another large study, of 245,000 people, found no difference in mortality between vegetarians, pescatarians, and meat eaters. Everything we eat (or avoid eating) adds up. Just as it’s possible to be a sickly, overweight vegan, it’s possible to be a healthy, well nourished meat eater You just have to eat smart.

False: Red meat contains various types of fat not only saturated fat, but also omega 6 fats (more in corn fed feedlot cows) and omega 3 fats (in grass fed meat). Furthermore, the link between saturated fat and heart disease has been disproven. Studies of more than 600,000 people in nineteen countries “countries found no link between saturated fat and heart disease. Another study of 135,000 people from eighteen countries and five continents over ten years showed a lower risk of heart disease and death from eating saturated fat. Like to add Americans are eating less Red meat at anytime in history. So, No, Americans are Not eating too much red meat. Perhaps chicken. Lol. Chowdhury R, Warnakula S, Kunutsor S, et al. That study was completely retracted and reissued lol. Walter Willet and a group of nutritional scientists wrote to the editor and got it retracted. This is utterly hilarious but they imported the WRONG numbers from the cohort studies they referenced. They got the polyunsaturated and saturated fat data backwards lol. Not even kidding. Look up Walter Willet and his colleagues letter to the editor on the Ann Intern site, which got the study retracted and reissued. Even when they reissued the paper, they didn't fully acknowledge their mistakes. Ironically, that study showed that saturated fat actually is harmful for cardiovascular health, and polyunsaturated fat has an inverse effect. Hilarious
@kal.el1233 ай бұрын
Also unsure how Americans are eating less red meat than anytime in history? Not sure what statistical calculus you performed to reach that conclusion.
@MikeCastelonia3 ай бұрын
@@kal.el123 While the retraction and reissue of the study due to data import errors are noteworthy, dismissing the reissued study entirely overlooks several key aspects of scientific research and its self-correcting nature. Errors and Corrections are Part of Science: Mistakes in data handling, while unfortunate, are not uncommon in scientific research. The retraction and correction process is a critical component of scientific integrity. The fact that the study was retracted, corrected, and reissued shows that the scientific community is committed to accuracy and transparency. It's not a reason to dismiss the corrected findings. Scientific Consensus: The corrected findings align with the broader scientific consensus that saturated fat is harmful to cardiovascular health and polyunsaturated fat is beneficial. This is supported by numerous other studies and meta-analyses. Focusing on a single study's initial error ignores the weight of evidence supporting these conclusions. Reissued Study Still Valid: The reissued study, even if not fully acknowledging the initial mistakes, underwent the same rigorous peer review process. The corrected data and conclusions are what matter most. Dismissing the reissued study simply because it doesn't emphasize the initial error undermines the scientific method's role in self-correction. Importance of Peer Review: Walter Willett and his colleagues' intervention exemplifies the importance of peer review and scientific discourse. Their actions led to the correction of the study, ensuring that accurate information is disseminated. This collaborative effort among scientists is a strength, not a weakness. In summary, while the initial error is indeed noteworthy, it does not invalidate the corrected study's findings or the broader scientific understanding of fats and cardiovascular health. The process of correction and reissue demonstrates the scientific method's robustness and should not be dismissed lightly.

@@kal.el123 Yes, red meat consumption in the United States has declined over the past several decades. Here are some points to support this: Historical Data: USDA data shows that per capita red meat consumption has decreased from its peak in the 1970s and 1980s. For instance, red meat consumption was around 138.4 pounds per person in 1970, and it dropped to approximately 104.7 pounds per person in 2019. Health Awareness: Increased awareness of health risks associated with high red meat consumption has led to a reduction in intake. Public health campaigns and guidelines have encouraged people to eat less red meat. Dietary Changes: There has been a shift towards plant-based diets and alternative protein sources. The popularity of vegetarianism, veganism, and plant-based meat substitutes has contributed to the decline. Environmental Concerns: Concerns about the environmental impact of red meat production have led to a decrease in consumption. More people are choosing sustainable food options..... Economic Factors: Rising prices of red meat compared to other protein sources have influenced consumer choices, leading to reduced red meat consumption. accurate to state that red meat consumption in the U.S. has declined from its historical peaks, claiming that Americans are eating less red meat than at any time in history is an overstatement without comprehensive statistical support and I thank you for making aware of my mistake. Methodological Considerations is big part of my depth analysis....
