That was the first song I learned as a young un. It's a great choice because it's a good base to expand upon . The G progression eliminates the need for bar chords that frustrate beginners. Nicely done.

Having fun playing this song, which is one of my favourites. Saw on YT Denver and Cass performing this. I noticed that Denver was changing from a 4 finger C chord to a four finger G ( I look it up and it seem to be a G add 11) by just moving two fingers (3 and 4). Your two finger chords for C and G are great, but this variant is easier on chord changes than the standard and produce IMO a cooler sound. Thanks a lot for your efforts!
@LaurenBateman2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Denver did a lot of chord variations. For example, I was working on Rocky Mountain high yesterday and he runs up the fretboard for the G and A vs playing the regular open chords.

Lauren, I’m catching up on some of your older videos like this one. This is great teaching. Specifically, I find it helpful to watch you play and sing the entire song. I’m a player who is just beginning to improve on singing while I play. It’s still pretty difficult, but there is some progress. For whatever reason, it works better for me than if you just said “this is the chord progression for both the verse and the chorus.” Thank you.
