so, for the arsenic design, it would have been cool to see some green in there since arsenic was used in the 1800s to make this vibrant green dye that was used in dresses and wallpaper. Baby cribs would actually be pushed against said wallpaper and the dye would flake off and if people breathed it, they could die of arsenic poisoning. This color of green was very popular for many things so death by arsenic poisoning was common. Also, since dresses burning and killing the women who wore them was so common, and having said dresses popularly made with the arsenic dye, even if the woman survived, she and the people around her might die from breathing the arsenic fumes that the dress gave off while it was burning. People who worked with arsenic dye on the daily suffered the most horrifying death. They breathed in the fumes and touched it with their hands so they died really often, but because green things were in high demand, it took a really long time for this problem to be fixed. Sometimes, their eyes would turn green. The pupil, iris, and sclera all turned a bright green. Arsenic is actually my favorite poison because of the wide variety it was used and killed people both intentionally and unintentionally.

The most interesting poison (in my opinion) is Aqua Tofana, named after its creator, Giulia Tofana (which is how she was arrested). Tofana was a Sicilian women during the 17th Century. She gave out Aqua Tofana to women who were unsatisfied by their husband. Aqua Tofana was made of Arsenic, Lead, and Belladonna, and was a genius murder poison, due to the fact that it's colorless, odorless and tasteless, so putting 4 to 6 drops of this poison in anything (mainly food and drinks) can confirm a kill. Additionally, Aqua Tofana takes as little as a week for symptoms (from a cold to intense diarrhea and stomach pain) to appear or as long as an entire year, making it look like some sort of disease. Not only that, even when an autopsy is performed, the poison would leave no trace, making it look like that the disease occurred naturally. I imagine Aqua Tofana as a girl who is like a ghost: transparent and smiling (but not levitating). I can also imagine her having a knife, slowly stabbing the victim to death. Additionally, she could have one side of her body look innocent, representing the innocence of Aqua Tofana's first symptom (cold). However, her other side looks devilish and evil (the one holding the knife), which represents the more painful side and also death.

Here are my head canon voices/accents and personalities for these characters: Foxglove: West county English accent. Despite her friendly and calming demeanor you can tell there's something slightly off about her. If she invites you to tea it's best to politely decline. Arsenic: Posh English accent. He may seem polite and gentlemanly but don't be fooled this seemingly distinguished gentleman will stop at nothing to take all of your valuables by any means necessary. Even (and especially) if it means you making an early appointment with the Grim Reaper. TTX: Japanese accent with a Tōhoku dialect. Sad and misunderstood, this poor creature will do whatever it takes to defend itself from anyone who may try to harm it. Polonium 210: Russian accent with a monotone voice. Cold, calculating and ruthlessly efficient, this fearsome assassin will stop at nothing to silence any dissent towards the regime. Much like Foxglove she seems to have a fondness for tea.

@@eshalharati9462 I think you need a very basic introduction into medicine. You see, for many thousand years people have been noticing that different plant and animal ingredients can have a variety of different effects apart from basic nutrition, and have been experimenting with these. That's how they noticed that for example, this and this thing here can make your heart go faster, *depending on the dose* , while this and this herb can make your heart go slower, also *depending on the dose* . When something in a HIGH DOSE and pure form can cause your heart to stop, a very tiny dose can help with your heart beating too fast! Meaning: *Something that has a specific dose where it can harm the body, can sometimes actually be used to treat specific symptoms and issues in a specific dose and situation* . You would be surprised how many kinds of medicine have been or still are extracted from e.g. animal poisons! Because something that can make your heart go slower when you don't want it, might actually be useful when your heart is going too fast to even out the effect of a disease or similar problem.

The ghost girls were young girls who worked with a type of paint and they painted with fine tip brushes and painted on those portable watches that glowed when in a dark place like a cave or tunnel they would paint the dials and everything you would see on a normal portable pocket watch but every time they would dip the brush in the paint they would then put the brush in their mouths this paint was a glow paint and was REALLY radioactive after a couple of days they would notice their teeth falling out, bottom jaw of their mouths even falling off, their skin becoming see through, and even their bones glowing through their skin. They would then die from this there was also 0 known cures as this was just happening but no one cared. There was about at least a thousand or two girls working one of the girls after one day at least decided to quit this actually saved her life also if I am correct. A detective and the girl I’m pretty sure tried to get the business down and gone but they didn’t win the war of this. And that is almost the whole story of the “Ghost girls” thank you for reading and be careful around glowing paint it could be the end of your life.

Radium Girls. They were called the Radium Girls. It took longer than a couple days, but they were poisoned by continuous exposure to the radium they worked with painting watch faces at a factory. They would lick the brushes to 'set' the tips in order to paint the tiny details. They had been told repeatedly by the company that radium was harmless, and when their bones started rotting in their still-living bodies, their jaws fell off their skulls, and their spines snapped from the strain of sitting upright, the company said it was their fault for contracting syphilis.

What if foxglove was like a token of fatally bad luck? People around her are naturally drawn to her because of her appearance, but the more they indulge in her the closer they come to an untimely death. The heart rate and stomach symptoms can reflect how the people around her feel, both enamoured and intimidated by her. People would assume its their love and deep admiration for her that is just causing them anxiousness, but the symptoms would progress. If you wanted a more passive role, people can face strange causes of death that are hard to pinpoint. But for a more active role for Foxglove, maybe she would see the suffering she causes and put her victims "out of their misery".

Fun fact about TTX-it was a very common ingredient in a sort of 'zombie powder' from Haiti, basically it was used to temporarily paralyze the victim, they'd be presumed dead and buried alive, so the person that poisoned them could go back and dig them up, aaand that's where zombie legends come from. Also, sidenote, I half-expected strichnine to be one of the poisons featured, but I guess that'd be hard to make into a character that didn't look like a Silent Hill-esque eldritch monstrosity.

Fun thing about arsenic! It was used in the late 1700s to dye things green. It was also know at the time as Scheele's Green. He was a Swedish chemist who discovered how to make the green pigment by using copper arsenite. The pigment began to be used successfully through the period, commonly used in clothing, paint, candle wax, children's toys, wallpapers, and color textiles. Scheele's Green was also used to create bright yellows and rich blues, which was a big hit. A young flower maker was killed due to the exposure to the Scheele's Green in the wallpaper. Many of her colleagues were also exposed to it. It stopped being used in the 19th century when people began realizing it's toxicity and switched to using Cobalt Green, also known as Zinc Green, because of the less toxicity is had.

Foxgloves is turned into Digoxin (a heart medication). In small doses it helps with heart rhythm abnormalities and heart failure. It slows the heart rate and improves the hearts filling ability (filling of the ventricles). Medicine from foxglove is one of the earliest medications used to treat cardiac issues (along with willow bark which works like aspirin). But you can safely plant foxglove in your gardens, it’s a very common plant in cottage gardens, and it is only toxic if you consume a large amount of it. I can see a show where all of these characters live together. Foxglove is like the younger sister of the group. She’s fairly optimistic and cares for anyone and everyone. She loves making tea, but in doing so, she tends to accidentally poison people. She’s the moral compass. Arsenic is the fatherly(?)/boss figure in the group. He’s very straight forward and he doesn’t give two craps about the weird stuff that happens around these characters. He’s secretly (but not really tho) a serial killer and has the most experience with planned murder. Despite this, he takes care of everyone in the group and makes sure no one goes buck wild. TTX is the misunderstood monster of the group. They usually just hang out in their own little space, while everyone else just does their own thing. They really just want friends, but they tend to scare others off before anyone gets the chance. I can imagine Arsenic entering TTX’s room to give them food, to see them doing weird-creepy stuff, and then Arsenic quickly shuts the door and moves on with his day like nothing happened. Very sad Polonium-210 is your token “creepy teenager that can and will kill you with edge”. For her backstory, I can imagine that she was artificially created by humans, then she broke out and killed everyone there. Ever since then, she became a hitman (hitwoman?) for assassinating government officials for whatever reason. Before her final design, LavenderTowne drew her with a normal mouth, which inspired me to think that she is normally that way, but she becomes more deformed the more bloodlust she has, which I think would be a pretty cool character trait.

You shouldn’t though. I learned about foxgloves, and they’re poisonous to touch.

I don't know why, but rewatching this video just gave me the incontrolable urge to draw, with like, a Lavandertowne music playlist, the music Haley chooses for her videos are soo good, but I can't find them for the life of me :'(.

I'm ridiculously transfixed at the smiling but not really element going on with arsenic, and how beautifully it's pulled off. I didn't really notice until it was mentioned, but it's amazing both how quickly the brain accepts something it registers as a face, and how it can change instantly the perception of the character. Freaking cheff kiss on them all, honestly, kudossss!

I’m now realizing that Foxglove is somewhat like an angel trumpet, those flowers that make your vision all weird sometimes. horn shaped flowers are scary

This is really cool. I like how you express the "personalities" of each poison. If you ever do this kind of thing again in the future, I may suggest ricin? It's very deadly, and can be taken from a pretty common plant, though I can't remember which one right now.

I absolutely loved the polonium character, and the arsenic one looks so posh and 80s! The foxglove girl was very cute, and the pufferfish one was so ethereal!

I live in the UK and I used to see Fox Gloves all the time in the country side when I was a child. I remember being warned multiple times by my mum about them. I feel a nostalgic confort in seeing them now, and I’m pleasantly surprised to see you make them into a character :)

I love how amazing you are at making very creepy characters. They’re so scary but it’s beautiful.

I remember as a child finding this pretty purple flower behind the fence in the back-garden. I picked this flower and tried to give it to my mum as a present. Unfortunately, she didn't appreciate my present and made me throw it away. She then forced me to wash my hands very thoroughly.

I like to imagine them all in a sort of show or webcomic where they constantly try to poison as many people they can (though when saying it out loud it makes me sound like a psychopath lmao)

Very interesting. The designs of the characters are nice and detailed, with how you incorporated the effects and symptoms of them to generate an appearance.

I think this is some of the best referencing I’ve ever seen in a video like this. The way you tie in the history of each toxin with its design so seamlessly to form an overall cohesive character is absolutely incredible.
