Happening in court:
Plaintiff Opening Statement - Benjamin Chew
Plaintiff Opening Statement - Camille Vasquez
Break
Respondent Opening Statement-J Benjamin Rottenborn-Amber Heard’s Attorney
Opening Statement - Elaine Bredehoft - Amber Heard’s Attorney
Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence. Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp as her alleged abuser, but according to Depp’s lawsuit, it relied “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.
The defamation trial began Monday in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, with jury selection completing on the same day. There is a possibility of celebrity witnesses testifying, including James Franco and Elon Musk. Tune in to the Law&Crime Network for daily coverage of this high-profile trial.

Elaine Bredehoft in representing Heard, has been a disgrace. I was curious about her and discovered that most of her background is kept hidden..!!! including her age, her parents, and her marital status. Most of the sites mention her as being on "The Best Lawyers List", which is as much of a joke as "The Best Doctors List". Being on such list has nothing to do with accomplishments. It is a Con Game played by the companies that started such lists. I have had first hand experience in dealing with such Con Games. It starts with a phone call informing the Lawyer or the Doctor that they have been "Selected", and that they have to pay $150 or $200 for the framing of the piece of paper that says they are on the List of the Best..!!!..Some Lawyers and Doctors know it is a Con Game but still figure it is worth it to hang a piece of paper on the wall that says they are the Best. She sounds like civilian and in no way a lawyer who is educated who actually pass the bar. How is this woman in business making the big bucks. I’m dumbfounded by her argument. Turns out a witness affiliated with the ACLUb(with his emails admitted into evidence)stated the op-ed was about Depp and was revised numerous times to avoid violating the NDA . She IS the worst attorney I have ever seen. An opening statement is supposed to be a summary of the case and what she is intends to prove. It’s certainly not meant to be a biography or bunch of gossip. It’s entirely too long and unprofessional. When questioning witnesses she asks the same question 30 times and makes it unbearable to watch. If anyone should be charged with a crime it should be this woman for the mental anguish she has inflicted on the witnesses and everyone having to watch her torture these poor people. The first mistake you make as an attorney is make the jury hate your client. The second is to make the jury hate you. A civil trial is much different than criminal. It doesn’t have the same burden of proof. It’s more of a popularity contest. The jury doesn’t want to hand a bunch of money to someone they don’t like and that includes the attorneys.

And, of course, you also have some Clueless People who figure it is real, and it is produced by the American Bar Association or by the American Medical Association....!!!

What the judge allows is what the judge allows, if it's within the legal standards it's acceptable. Opening statements are supposed to = "The evidence will show X". WTH?! Is this a celebrity gossip session on display? Sounds like heresy running rampant.

I’m catching up on the earlier footage I haven’t seen yet and WTAF?!?! Where is the professionalism in this “opening statement”. All I hear is “Blah Blah Blah Blah” As other comments state, this just sounds like a gossiping old biddy boddy, sharing idol gossip, typically exaggerating every single detail she’s overheard. I can image each jurist holding back yawning 🥱
