It was much too long. But in 1948, the rights of indigenous people weren't recognized by many countries. In Canada they didn't get to vote until the 1960s, or to use the courts until the 1970s. Things are different now. Indigenous people always stood with Palestine, because they are indigenous, but now they have the power to make a difference.
