so it seemed like tiftuf struggled with recovering from rye oversead... I had the same thing happen, new 8,000 sqft of tiftuf last sept, got agressive, over seeded with perinial rye, and didnt spray it out, that combined with a very wet spring, the tif tuff looked like a war zone by may. I am about to replace it all with Celebration... I have a small area of celebration mixed in with the tiftif, and the celebration quickly recovered, looks much darker blue/green, and has almost no weeds in it, where the tiftuff that did recover is full of weeds.

Toughest, most durable, thickest plush Turf out there, an Absolute Monster is Palisade Zoysia!!! Hands Down!!! I’ve been working with Palisade Zoysia for 3 seasons now and it’s an absolute Beast!!! I have a pitch and putt out back. I reel mow the palisade greens at 1/4”… Looks so good. Greens maintenance is fairly easy. Spike aeration once a week and I use liquid products once a week, also a fungicide schedule just like most greens I would highly recommend Palisades Zoysia 100% it’s unphuck upable. It’s so plush and beautiful
@sbway93083 ай бұрын
One other thing about Palisades Zoysia, it grows much faster than the other Zoysia species. If my lawn come out of dormancy with a bald spot I just liquid fertilize that area once a week and boom, grows back quick!! I know other Zoysias are slow growers, like Empire

My front yard is on a slope, the bottoms half is Bermuda and the top half is pinestraw. I started seeing the Bermuda grow up thru the pinestraw on the edge. I sprayed glyphosate 2-3 times and then I figured out that the pinestraw had slowly creeped down the slope. It creeped down about 4-5” over the bermuda. Oops. I had a 4-5” strip of dead bermuda across my entire front yard. Happy to report that about a month later the bermuda has grown back in 😂

I don't understand why people care so much about the change. Especially don't understand getting upset about it. I'm excited about the possibility of you changing to bermuda personally.
@ahastar11414 ай бұрын
I think people care based on what grass they have. If you got blue grass, you probably follow Pete and see what he does to maximize his results. So seeing him dump the blue is probably a bummer to some. Shouldn’t really matter, but I know a lot of people follow who they follow based on the grass types and Pete is definitely one of the bigger blue grass channels even though he’s probably known for his tall fescue. I agree some people shouldn’t care as much as they do, but I do understand why people do care.
@joshuabellinger2674 ай бұрын
@@ahastar1141 yea. Well said, and I agree with the point you’re making. I was mainly speaking to the nasty or semi aggressive comments from people as if Pete’s choice in turf type offended them personally hahaha
@ahastar11414 ай бұрын
@@joshuabellinger267 absolutely fair. I actually think it would be cool to see the process of him bringing back his KBG this fall, since so many people have struggling KBG lawns in the summer. Would be a cool thing to see since a lot of people can relate. I also think a blue-mueda mix would be interesting. Personally I watch a ton of lawn KZbin, and whether they have warm or cool season grass is generally irrelevant to me since the concepts are the same, just the application timing and some of the herbicides that’s different.

Zoysia is much slower to spread, recover and needs more water. But Stadium and Primo zoysia are insanely dark. I would say they hold a dark color better than my T31. Those 2 are very superior in color to all the other zoysia I've seen. Like not even close. Lazer is amazing but only if well fertilized. Doesn't really hpld that dark.color like the 2 other mentioned. But its much softer and it shines. I have samples of celebration, TifGrand, and obviously T31. They all have great color. Hard to say bc they're not in the same conditions. TifGrand is goorgeous! But so slow to spread/recover. I'm looking for samples of Latitude 36 as I heard it also looks great.

Here’s why I say you should switch over. #1. With all the athletic field work you have is a big responsibility. #2. Having Bermuda grass at home is a lot easier to maintain at home and you can spend more time with your family. 3. Bermuda will survive even through a drought so less watering. 4. Bermuda will stay short and you don’t have to cut it as much.
