It is a special privilege to wear these garments to always remind me that I belong to Jesus Christ our Savior and not the world. My first time into the temple is a experience I will never forget. This was the beginning of a new life in Christ for me. I know with no doubt that the temple was the house of God and you could feel the presence of the Lord beyond measure. I love going to the temple. The temple has changed my life completely for the better.

I look forward to the day I can wear garments. I understand them to represent how we are clothed in Christ and made clean and pure. As the Bible says, "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels." (Rev 3:5 NKJV)

I love to see the temple; I'll go inside some day; I'll covenant with my Father; I'll promise to obey. For the temple is a holy place where we are sealed together. As a child of God I've learned the truth: "A fam'ly is forever".

Amazing talk! When I choose to wear the garments of the holy priesthood, I am following the oaths and covenants I made with my Father in Heaven to "put on Christ," and to keep his commandments. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, and is the same church in New Testament times. Joseph Smith is a true prophet, and God loves you and I so much that he sent Christ to die for you and I!

Every Sunday we are blessed to covenant and commune with God our Father and promise to always remember our Savior Jesus Christ, to keep His commandments and to be willing to take upon us His name. In the temple, when we are endowed, we are blessed to take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ through garment. We then keep the sacrament covenant everyday when we put on those covenants. It is a wonderful blessing to always have His spirit to be with us.

Isaiah 35: 8-10 - The Holy Highway " _And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away_ ."

Some gospel ordinances and covenants are so sacred thatour Gods permits us to recieve them only in special places called Temples. A temple is literally a house of the Lord-- a holy place set a part from the rest of the world. In the Temple, we learn more about a plan of salvation and how to follow Christ's perfect example. God's greatest blessings are available in His temples. The scriptures teach that God has commanded us his people to worship in temples since ancient times.And when the Lord restored His Church through the Prophet Joseph Smith, He directed that temples once again be built. Having temples on this earth is a witness of God's love for us, Eberything in the temple testifies that Gpd is our Father and that Jesus Christ is His Son and our Savior of the world. For members of the Church, a temple is the most sacred place of worship on this earth. It is also a place whe can we feel closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, a place of peace and revelation, aplace where our family relationship are strengthened, and a place to seek direction concerning our life's challenges.

What does he mean by not wearing garments being a disclaimer to not keeping other temples covenants? Is he saying that if you don’t wear garments you won’t keep other covenants?
@jareds5619 ай бұрын
What I take from it is that the choosing to not wear it (in circumstances where one could and should) is an act of disclaiming (or vacationing) from the commitment to the covenants. I think it shows a lack of zeal that should be there. I feel the same way about wearing my wedding ring. If I am careless to wear it in public I feel it an expression of lesser commitment or a carelessness toward my marriage committment. Bottom line though: from the temple recommend questions: 26.3.3.2 Wearing the Temple Garment The temple garment is a reminder of covenants made in the temple and, when worn properly throughout life, will serve as a protection against temptation and evil. The garment should be worn beneath the outer clothing. It should not be removed for activities that can reasonably be done while wearing the garment, and it should not be modified to accommodate different styles of clothing. *******Endowed members should seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to answer personal questions about wearing the garment.****** It is a sacred privilege to wear the garment and ******doing so is an outward expression of an inner commitment to follow the Savior Jesus Christ.******* If members have questions about wearing the garment, refer them to 38.5.5. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/general-handbook/26-temple-recommends?lang=eng Hope this helps! God bless!

Is not the body more important than clothing? .... Mathew 6:25, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

No, I think he means if you disregard wearing your garments, you likely may be disregarding other sacred covenants. If you don't understand the importance of wearing garments day and night, there may be other covenants you don't understand or don't think are important...

Ever since last Conference he is looking way more frail. Anyone employed by the US Government (even census takers) must sign the following oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God." Even Congress renews this oath annually. There are many who should be admonished to uphold it.

Conversion is not an incremental change nor an ongoing process, conversion comes by the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost it is a change of heart given to ALL who offer a broken heart and a contrite spirit, Oaks’ teaching is false and makes a mockery of true conversion to all who believe him, “wo unto those who pervert the ways of the Lord” this deceiver needs repentance because he is in the “gall of bitterness and bonds of iniquity” False Prophet
