Love this series just got a frame I’m still using my domestic on it but I’m thinking of starting pantographs. So happy you are going step by step. Thank you

You're welcome! You can use my pantographs with your home machine. Just print the 3 1/2 inch designs to create your rows and take it one row at a time.

Thank you for these videos. The tip about having dowels on the ends to keep from running into the side clamps was genius!! Such a simple solution that I would never have thought of. So thank you especially for that tidbit. I have tried pantograph quilting with okay results. My problem is that I quilt a row of the pantograph, then the next row tends to slant upward toward the previous row and the space between the rows gets smaller and smaller. Is there a way to line the quilt up to prevent this from happening? I have been doing most of my quilting of pantographs by just guessing how it should be done. I really appreciate your putting this information in systematic, understandable details. All the best to you!!!

Great question Gail! What type of frame are you using - hoop frame or rolling rail frame?

Hi Leah, What is the name of the quilting design you are using in this video! Thank you!

The designs I’m using in this video are Paisley and Heart Paisley. Different designs can be mixed and matched to create a totally unique design for your quilt! LeahDay.com/Panto

Hi Leah, thanks so much for sharing. I am new to long arm quilting. I’ve had it for a couple years but am very hesitant to use it because it doesn’t seem to matter how I adjust the tension, thread turns into nests on the back. It’s a qnique 15r. Any advice? Is it the needle, the thread? I have a few pantographs but am worried to try with the thread mess that is left on the quilts.

It sounds like you need to do a careful troubleshoot on your tension. I have a few videos on this here - leahday.com/blogs/machinequilting/troubleshoot-tension-on-a-longarm Change only one thing at a time. Go slowly. Double check your threading. Nests on the back indicates an incorrect threading path, or that you've dropped your bobbin case and messed up the spring inside or dented the bobbin case.

What stitch mode/speed do you use when quilting pantographs?
@LeahDay2 жыл бұрын
I generally have my machine set with Regulated Cruise with a stitch length at 16 stitches per inch. This is just my favorite! Play around to find what you like best.

...hi Leah...say 1 belt is on an imaginary X axis & other belt is on the Y axis. Have U noticed when stitching that design or FMQ that circular designs R a tad more difficult to drive when say, your designs @ a 45° angle? TU 4 all U do 4 us.
@LeahDay2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, for this reason I don't design circles into hand-guided pantographs. They are just not possible to quilt smoothly. Using QCT (Quilter's Creative Touch) you can quilt circles perfectly, but hand guided it's very challenging.

I miss your free motion quilting. I only quilt at home and I do not have a business so I will never ever invest in a long arm.
