Leaky Transfer Case? 3rd G 4Runner / 2004 Tacoma

If you have a leaking transfer case check this out, the simple fix maybe this. Also if you’re locking differential light is not lit up on the dash check this wiring fix

Thanks for helping me figure out...where my leak came from. Did what you said... Worked for me, on my 0 2 4 runner. Spot on!! And yes...you are correct there is a gasket..metal plate and another gasket. Very helpful..thanks!!

I have 2004 2.7 and the 4x4 shifter inside looks different is that because yours is 6cyl

Did replacing that gasket end up fixing your leak? Did you end up determining if the breather was clogged, and if so did you do anything with that? Thanks for the video!

Yes gasket was the fix. No more leak The breather was still moving and presumably functional, so left it

The oil deflector plate (the metal gasket) was there. It was the plate with the two holes in it, which looks like part of the transfer case. [kzbin.info/www/bejne/oV67eaWrm52FnMU] The J-shifter and push button deflector plates have different part numbers; check out the Timmy the Toolman video [kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXSrhIWZppJ_hpo]. I have a J-shifter and my replacement deflector plate had a paper gasket attached (for between it and the transfer case).

Amigo yo tengo una tacoma 2003 que tiene la palanca del 4×4 con el boton al lado y no meatrebo quitarla porque nose si tiene cables o otra cosa que no pueda montar

J Lee...just did mine the other day... Need to share. The metal plate is still on your transfer case. You only got off the top part. That metal plate is stuck on your transfer case. Gasket...plate...gasket... Just saying...

Es difícil desmontar la palanca del 4×4 la que tiene el botón es difícil yo busco para ber como se monta y desmonta y nada la mía es igual con el botón no meatrebo por que nose si sea muy difícil ponerla debuelta
