You guys are a hilarious bunch. I hope I can find a unicycle crew as comical as you guys in AZ. Thanks for the in-depth review. Just started hitting the trails with my Patton (not much of a street rider). It sounds like I should have lied to my wife and shell out the extra K for the Lynx. Looking forward to Marty's edited out version.

If you weigh over 220lbs, this wheel is a must have for aggressive riders.

@@roghaj I'm trying to gauge what these wheels can do at my weight. I'm overweight right now at 280lbs and live in a hilly area in LA. What's the best wheel for riders my weight who would be riding 70% trails and 30% road? Would this thing burn out or overheat? EDIT: i see the max load on the Lynx is 290lbs. I gotta lose some weight.

I hate to say it but... my new Lynx beats my V14 in most applications... the V14 is more "nimble"... but the larger size of the Lynx helps on the big stuff at Fullerton Loop. Both wheels are amazing but I am starting to lean towards the Lynx as an off road beast! you cant go wrong with either wheel. if you want an off road wheel only... v14.. all around champ... definitely the lynx! road only wheel.. lynx is not too bad... so many variables... ughhh

What would you think about the comparison in terms of range on the Lynx and the Sherman S?
@roghaj11 ай бұрын
The SS would win. But not by a huge margin.
@Jukeboxandi11 ай бұрын
@@roghaj Ok. Because I saw in many range tests that the Sherman S goes an average of 120km and the Lynx seems to go around 80km of range. That would be a huge margin, I assume, wouldn‘t it?
@dnthmn11711 ай бұрын
@@Jukeboxandi Yes, but it depends how you ride it. At higher speeds, or on hills, the Lynx should be more efficient, closing the gap on battery size difference. I have an SS and am considering this to replace it, but do wonder about real life range tests.
@Jukeboxandi11 ай бұрын
@@dnthmn117 Ok, I see. The range tests I saw were ridden with an average speed of around 30 - 35 mph on the Sherman S. The tests with the Lynx I saw were around 80km of range instead of the Sherman S with always 120km or more. So I'm excited about the data which will come about more range tests with the Lynx.

I just had my first violent and gnarly speed wobble on my lynx. Check out that video from Chooch where he went down. The lynx is lovely! I myself am going to lower the pedals and not go over 40 miles an hour. Although I do blame the speed wobble on myself and my riding skill.

Lynx vs Extreme price to ability ratio?
@Mpower31 Жыл бұрын
I think you already know the answer to this question. But they're both already super powerful i dont think there's an appreciable difference. I'll add that begode wheels usually require aftermarket parts like new linkage/shocks/pads before they're good to go. If you didn't change anything the Extreme is obviously a better value at about $1.5k less but when you factor in the longterm cost of ownership and the upfront cost maybe it isn't so good? It's a 12inch rim compared to the 14 on the Lynx so it will be less stable there's just no getting around that, at least that's what people say. I imagine maintenance on the Lynx will be less overall and that begode releases more wheels so if you decide to resell the extreme, it'll probably not hold it's value nearly as well especially if the Lynx turnout to be as good as it seems.

As always, what is your use case. What do you want? If range is your concern then the Master Pro V2 will win, but if build quality is your primary goal, then it loses. Same as if off-road capability is your priority. EUC's are like all other vehicles. A ferrari can be a great car, but if you want an offroad vehicle then a suzuki jimny despite being cheap compared is much better.
