Hello teacher sue!! This video Particles is really good on handy to know, i was really having many doubts about how to use them and the meaning of each!! I hope you continue this serie cause i really liked it!!! You’re doing so well and good on Cantonese Corner for us learners!! Thank you!! 😉 Im from japan and i usually mix all the Chinese characters reading so, its hard to separate inside my head, i would like to ask how to read my name in cantonese 向井 和雄 (mukai kazuo) in japanese!! Thanks a lot!! 👍👍

Hi Kazuo!! Thanks for commenting and I am so glad you find this one on particles useful. I just posted another with some practice so hope that's helpful as well. :) I think it's so interesting that Japanese uses some of the Chinese characters ... something that I'm so glad for when shopping at the Japanese supermarkets here since at least I can have some idea what I'm buying! LOL If I could learn another language, it would definitely be Japanese ... it sounds so soft and beautiful. I have asked my local friends just to be sure how to read your name, and they said "heung" "jéng" "wòh" "hùhng" so middle, middle rising, low falling, low falling. I hope that helps! By the way, your English is excellent!

Thank you Sue! :D In your next video, could you talk about “la”? I have lots of friends who put “la” on the end of sentences in English as well - and it seems to go everywhere and anywhere haha. Hope you’re having a nice evening! - Leo

Hi Leo! I had to smile when I read your comment because it reminds me of this license plate on a taxi I've seen here in Hong Kong and it's the perfect answer to your request ... I can't seem to figure out how to insert a picture here, so here's a link to where you'll see it: www.hongkongmoms.com.hk/seen-hk-license-plate/ I'll add the "la" to my next lot of particles to do, along with probably "ge" and "me" and more instances where people use the "a". So nice to hear from you!
