Wow! In Canada we have to actually drywall up to the corner whether we’re putting crown mould on or not. We have to tape the corners as well .Couple of questions... why do you die the second coat yellow I only usually die mud when I’m doing patches on a ceiling that’s already painted white so I can see where the patches are.

Damn I wish we were allowed to 2nd coat with all purpose in wa.. It's deemed Dodgey over here. These boys do a ripper job mate love that you involve yourself with quality!

That's crazy I hear people all purpose all coats and to think you can't all purpose second coat. The first coat that embeds the tape is where the strength is but we do fill our tapes as we press them so our recess is pretty full in comparison to people who just press the tapes.

Its tinted mud. I've realized it's not sold everywhere I always used tinted here in Illinois that when I went to texas for a couple years to work I couldnt find tinted anywhere I was shocked that alot of people didnt know about it.

Mmm. Good question.. I dont see much difference. It all gets bladed off around these parts... I think mud consistency is the most important. I like Tapepro though.. made in Australia!

You guys have it easy with these houses I see no plugs or buttjoints. When running the box a lot of times their are switches and plugs . I don’t even see the light fixtures. Lol are these rooms samples for videos.

I don't Know about plugs, but you don't see butt joints simply because they use very long sheetrocks that with a clever installation, let you to avoid 99% of butt joonts. Less but joints you have, less work you have and better results you get...

They do their own boarding with 20' sheets the did a vid drywall fast I think it was called . And the electrician adds boxes after they are lucky for that lol

Yes, I've always wiped down with a broad knife afterwards. Every coat. Ppl call them finishing tools, understandable when talking, it's shorter and simpler. In actuality they're compound application tools. The finishing and professionalism has always been in the hand work. Yes, i said hand work. Let the jokes begin. 🤣 Edit: just strange to see ceilings run after the walls. I've always done the opposite, in case debris (no matter how small) could come from ceiling onto the wall.

Sometimes we skim the walls one more time after ceilings if they need it. So we do walls ceilings and then repeat any walls to give it a minute of drying on the surface to layer it up. Can't say that any mud has ever fallen off the ceiling onto the wall when running a box before

We used to also until I met an old box man that showed me that if the mud is at the perfect consistency, not too thin, that the joints turn out beautiful with no need to go over the whole thing. Just knock off the lap joint. Doing the angles last takes care of the voids on the ends

It just makes it much faster; if you have a hand pump or that tube thing you don’t have to open the back and fill it by hand

@ VanDamme WannaBe - Yep just use glue in Australia - Screws / Nails are just used to keep drywall in place until the Glue Sets. We are not Snowed in for 4 months of the Year in Australia, so no need for Vapour barrier and our Sparkys know how to read plans so they know where all the outlets are as the same Sparkys put the Wiring in in the first place - just more efficient way of doing construction compared to the "this is how it has always been done in the past, so we have to do it that way or we are doing it Wrong" attitude.

It’s a mortar syringe, made for cement mortar but also works great for drywall mud
