I appreciate the effort you put into your Salesforce advise videos, David. They played a crucial role in solidifying my decision to start my journey with Salesforce. Before my accident two years ago, I was doing well, but since then, my mobility has been limited. After much contemplation between AWS and Salesforce, your videos helped me make a final decision. Thank you for your help and support. As you said, I will start with the Admin path.

I stumbled on your page somehow after finally watching all the "Best brownie recipe" videos on youtube. At this point, I knew I had finally masted the "procrastination Superbadge". My days at work have been reduced due to Covid and I've been struggling to give myself some structure to investing in myself. I've been working through Trailhead slowly but just picking at it really because as you said, there is just so much content available. The biggest struggle I've found is getting real-world advice and guidance on how to progress to achieving an Admin Certification. The trailhead you've created looks like exactly what I'm after. The 100+hr's of modules which will likely take me 200hr hours feel manageable because I think it will give me an understanding of Salesforce, and also where I need to go next. Thanks for creating this, hopefully, it doesn't lead to me hating you forever creating this Trailhead that I'm about to start.

So if I want to get my Salesforce Admin Certification as quickly as possible, should I just go through that Trailmix or should I focus my time on the Trailhead badges you are suggesting? I want to get my admin cert the absolute quickest way possible... probably a silly question, but how should I do that?
@MakarkinPRO4 жыл бұрын
Cool Advice! Thank you. I would say the first months is the difficult one. In my example, I gathering information from everywhere and join into each meetup and related source which is mentioned "Salesforce" keyword. After figuring out I create my own path. As well as certs, I took my 1st admin in 3 months. But now I have more stronger feeling of what to do, and keep doing that.

David, you are an INSPIRATION! It is amazing that anytime after I see one of your videos, I feel more motivated and more in love with Salesforce! From a person with 0 technical background or Salesforce working experience, I can say that the first certification is the hardest one. You need a looot of motivation, hard work and focus in order to reach the finish line. Rest of the certifications will come naturally, in time. Also, I think that getting the Admin certification firstly is the foundation for a successful Salesforce professional. All the best and keep up the great work!

So here’s my question, I’m interested in Data analytics and eventually want to get into data science or Einstein analytics. I’m very anti social, I was told the easiest way to break into data was Salesforce without having to do a lot of schooling. How true is that ? I’m already having anxiety about networking.
@dvdkliu3 жыл бұрын
True but data science for Salesforce is not really a thing. You'd want to learn SQL and dashboarding really well. Einstein Analytics aka Tableau CRM is in that space but it's so proprietary and such a small player I'd be hesitant to focus on that

I myself just found your video after a couple of hours Getting Started with Trailhead and realizing that even though they have so many trails it's very hard to build a learning path of my own that makes sense with my time availability and SF experience (virtually 0). If I may be so bold as to ask for some of your advice for me, and hoping you ever get to read my comment, I would like to ask what do you suggest in terms of SF training or resources for a guy like me: - B2B sales experience and chemical engineering background. - Implemented Hubspot service hub for a medium b2b supplier to solve logistics and customer claims (sounds bigger than it is, and we literally used only the free features of HS). - Good with computers, yet not a highly skilled programmer or developer. - Limited time to learn, 3hours/day top. Thanks!

Every once in awhile I would put my resume out there and I got a call.. when I did the phone interview I thought... at least this will be good interview experience. That went really well though.. to make a really long story shot. I got my first Salesforce job, not only that.. the company I currently worked for offered me 25k more to stay... I didn’t because I wanted to do only Salesforce. I am so happy I did this and I’m not stopping anytime soon.
