What are some more common Spanish phrases that you know that come up a lot in Spanish conversations?
@MaestroPdx2 жыл бұрын
I think this is specific to Mexico but I just got back from Ciudad de Mexico and they say " a Poco" a lot to mean ...really? or Wow really? He just ran a marathon ... A poco? And also I heard a lot of "ahorita" meaning soon or in a moment ..... Quieres comer? Ahorita

Love your videos. I have one request. Could you please turn up the volume on the movie clips? Even at full volume (which makes your part of the video way too loud for anyone) the voices on the movies are unintelligible...softer than whispers. Thanks

Good videos. I think they might improve if you could find a way to put both the Spanish text and the text on the screen at the same time.

Hola! I am a new subscriber to your channel- living in the USA- and trying to learn Spanish (obviamente). One hang up I have and have never seen a video (& can’t get a Spanish speaker to explain) about is ESTE y ESTO. How the heck are you supposed to know which of these masculine nouns translates when you say this/that? I have been practicing as many as I can regarding nouns as I can that ‘break the rule’ (for example ending in ‘a’) - dang logic based thinking- but I wondered if there was a pattern to the masculine (I don’t even understand ‘why’ there are two options for masculine 😆). Any tips would be appreciated!

some of these constructions are purely neutral, I gotta say.. however I think its super clever sticking to neutral spanish teaching, like you do.. its either Castellano, or spanish from Mexico mostly. Cuz if u were to use PUES in Argentina.. you'd get bullied or something, it doesnt exist. I enjoy your clases de Español - teach the kids some mexican slang, now thats FUN

Don't you worry, v Don't worry. In the second one, the object is implied. We do the same in English--Don't go there v Don't you go there!

Help! I keep getting confused with the pronunciation of “c”. First I learnt a c is pronounced “th” if it’s followed by an i or an e, now I’m learning it’s not. I’m also lost when it comes to a double c (cc).

Thank you for the vid! How do you use the subjunctive tense in spanish? It's confusing me
@realfastspanish2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the subjunctive is difficult but I like to remind students that it's not as important as many other concepts. It's possible to speak in Spanish for hours without it. The subjunctive is only required for specific constructions.
@shivanruddick65242 жыл бұрын
@@realfastspanish ah right OK thanks
@spongechameleon69402 жыл бұрын
In general you use it when something is uncertain or 'not real'. There are verbs like esperar that *always require the use of the subjunctive. Espero que tengas buen día (I hope you have a good day). It's uncertain if you actually will or not so ya gotta use the subjunctive- the only time you don't use subj with esperar is when the hope-r and doer are the same e.g. espero tener buen día (I hope I have a good day). There's a group of verbs that require subj when used in the negative sense e.g. creer. Creo que es fácil (I think it's easy). No creo que sea fácil (I don't think it's easy). You gotta use subj + future tense for expectations or future plans when using cuando e.g. cuando tenga 60 años, seré lo mejor (when I'm 60 yrs old I'll be the best). You can also choose to use subj with quizás and tal vez, depending on how confident you feel about something. Quizás va a llover (maybe it's going to rain - and you think it probably will). Quizás vaya a llover (maybe it's going to rain - and you think it probably won't). I obvs left out a ton of verbs and for sure more rules but hopefully that gives you the gist of it. Just started learning it myself but these are a few things my teachers have taught me over the past couple months.
