I keep my kush in a lockable shrine. Once i brought it to a friend while we were drinking thinking maybe we'll feel like smoking some during the small hours. Later that night i realized I forgot the key and we were all in despair. I had the brilliant idea of picklocking the shrine. I went all serious mode and said: "Give me 2 bobby pins and 5 minutes, i got this!" We were all humming mission impossible for about 2 min before the lock gave way and we all went absolute apeshit. The night was saved! The kush was unleashed! We smoked and spent the rest of the night locking and unlocking the shrine, practicing our lock picking skills. Nothing feels better then successfully opening a locked lock with no key. To this day the key is gone and i lock it with bobby pins :) [3]

Lock picking is actually more trouble than its worth in most cases. Did you know that most doors are not properly fitted? You can actually just swipe a card between the door and wall. Also a lot of people don't know how to properly close a door either. When you close a door, then push it closed further and hear that second click that doesn't mean the door is closed, that means the little plunger is deactivated and you can use the card method. Plenty of other stupid ways people fit doors like putting the brackets that hold the door on the outside where you can just get a screwdriver and a hammer or anything similar, knock out the pins and just remove the door.

@Mrbootyman
@Mrbootyman 5 жыл бұрын
@@nickolaslynch6695 But not really though. It's not a skill that is widely practiced and most robberies happen with a broken window or even doors just left unlocked. Statistically, lock picking is really uncommon.

In california its illegal to have them unless you're a certified locksmith, its kinda one of those things that's hard to tell when illegal and when not so its best just to not flash them around but to just keep them in your home away from anyones business, like all them fancy knives you can get for cheap online that are most likely illegal

Apparently it isn't illegal to have unless it is for "felonious intent" so it is up to the police to decide that if they arrest you. If you do get arrested of course you can defend yourself in court. However, it is unlikely you are going to be carrying a lock pick with you wherever you go unless you are indeed a criminal.

I learned to pick locks back in middle school with a paper clip and a pen cap, and having actual picks makes it a LOT easier. Even using an aluminum bobby pin is easier. Padlocks are some of the hardest locks to pick, without being completely impossible, because it's nearly impossible to hold the lock, apply torque, and maneuver the pins all at the same time. I eventually used that skill when the head of my summer group lost the key to the cabinet where all the game consoles were kept.

I watched a guy do it once, I did it first try. For those who doesnt understand: In a padlock, or a hanging lock commonly found for lockers etc. There are pins on one side, and space for the other. You can do this with 1 paperclip. If you fold out the paperclip, but keep the center bend as it is, push the paperclip in, push down the pins, and twist it around.

I can pick locks in under two seconds and I am not exaggerating, the trick is a technique called raking, when raking you use a tool with multiple teeth and push it in and out of the keyhole making the pins quickly fall into place. I hope you’ll consider doing this for a learn quick. I used the same lock as you when I learnt and was successful within a minute of trying, my age is currently 12 and I learnt when I was 11 I was successful because of research such as finding out how locks work.

A mighty tip for those wanting to repeat his efforts: don't pick locks you're still using. You can actually damage the lock making it inoperable. Just use padlocks or just the lock, like how actual lock smiths practice. Oh, and stay legal. Especially never pick locks you have no permission for.

Tip for when picking doors and you're not the best at picking (first try raking or bumping if you have the right tools with you) tie the right angle to your wrist and say thank you to the strap each time it doesn't drop to the floor... helps a lot with the frustration. Same reason I thank my car when it beeps at me :P
