I noticed that our slang often remove certain letter in the word whenever we speak or doesn't say certain letter clearly so it ended up soundless(This doesn't apply to everyone and it really depends how you were thought) For example, "Saya" became "sya" or "sa". "Abang" become "bang".

My mother tongue is Thai, I learned Malay at school. It wasn't that easy as the whole village speaks thai, unless we go to nearby town for groceries. I love it! So easy and flowy. Unlike Thai which has intonation, and can be quite hard if we don't have native speakers nearby. La saya cakap Bahasa Melayu, sleng (accent) utagha dah la. Siap bulih paham kecek klate, ganu, dan klaka borneo juga. Mula2 mmg penin xtau nak habaq tp dah kawan2 satu Malaysia, lama2 telan paham la jugak. Dulu ingat nak blajaq mandarin, tup2 ambik arab, jepun dgn perancis. La bulih la kayuh arab (amiyah masri), jepun dgn perancis (yg ni takat asas saja). Never too late to learn! Thinking of taking mandarin if got time, but it is quite hard, plus my chinese friends speaks cantonese, hakka etc... Their mandarin also "hazab"... Chinese doesn't mean they speaks fluent mandarin ya know, reading apatah lagi. Pernah ke Taiwan, bawak kawan chinese, dia tengok aku, aku tngok dia, dok berlawan khenyih mcm kerang busuk masa cari makan. Awat tak haru...!

Malay language is actually one of the easiest language to learn. The only confusing things about the language are the affixes. The root word 'ajar' means 'to teach' Ajaran - teachings Belajar - to learn Pelajar - student Pengajar - teacher/tutor Mengajar - to teach Diajar - being taught Mempelajari - to study Dipelajari - to be studied Pelajaran - subject/education Pengajaran - lesson/Moral of story Pembelajaran - learning Terajar - taught (accidentally) Terpelajar - well-educated Berpelajaran - has education (is educated)
