Nice video! I have been skating for over 20 years now. Here's a few tips that might help you. 1. Tighten up your trucks. Yours look a bit loose for a beginner. As you get better, you'll naturally loosen them up. 2. Expect to fall, a lot. Even the best skaters fall all the time. 3. Master the fundamentals. e.g. Have a solid ollie on flat ground before you start learning flip tricks. There's no rush. Skateboarding is a marathon, not a sprint. 4. HAVE FUN! Don't get mad or frustrated when you can't land a trick. You'll get it eventually.

You could be a drive way skater for a bit and when you get good enough you can teach your friends how to skate. I taught my friends how to skate and now all 3 of us skate together, I’m still a bit better than them so they can’t really teach me but it’s still fun!

Falling is a big part of skating even the best of skaters have really nasty falls but i can understand the embarrassment but most skaters are so supportive even if you don’t land a trick they won’t make fun of you at all and if they do ignore them

@@stephaniep4965 don’t go to zumies. They don’t support the local skate scene at all and many skaters will call you a poser. Look up local skate shops near you and only go to zumies as a LAST resort.

“Was my first fall.” “Won’t be your last.” Wise words, pretty good for just getting started. Keep your front foot on or just behind the bolts. Keep posting, would be cool to see a progress series from a beginners perspective. Ollies took me a year to learn but shuvs and 180s were easy. Every one is different and has their own style. My favorite thing about skateboarding. Play skate with people better than you, ask for tips. Skaters are usually kind. Though the gatekeeper types are really loud. Don’t let them discourage you. You got this.

Easier to learn tricks once you get CONFORTABLE on the board. Make sure youre very comfortable if youre scared of falling. You will less likely fall if you are stable.

love this vid!! quick little tip: i noticed as you were screwing your trucks on, you screwed on the screws side to side. instead, tighten the trucks in a crisscross pattern, like do the northwest screw first, then southeast. this will ensure that the weight of the board will be distributed evenly throughout the axels. It will make your board ride a lot smoother and safer :)

I just bought a skateboard and been going out and about when it’s dry. Haven’t skated since late 90’s. More people walking on the pavements during lockdown though.

@@chuchii2706 Yup. I skated pretty much all through high school in the late 80s. Then stopped for about 10 years. Then, started up, and injured my ankle and I figured that was the last of my skating activities. However, I had been running on a treadmill and although my ankle is a little off, it must have helped it somewhat. I've been skating pretty regularly and surprisingly, my ankles and everything else has pretty much been fine. Though I've for the most part been reduced to a newbie at this point. I definitely won't be olliing down stair cases or anything like that. I've pretty much been strictly flatland so far. Getting my ollies back and learning to just tic-tac and ride switch. When I skated in the 80s, they didn't have dual tails like they have now. So, I've been entertaining myself with that. I figure if I could at least do something like Stacy Peralta, I'll be happy. I've been working on my balance a lot and trying to get my manuals down. So, I'm only doing the very basics at this point, but, glad that I'm back, as I figured it was curtains for my skating after I injured my ankle.

When you try to ollie the way I learned was to slide your front foot up and roll your ankle just a little bit I think it still works without rolling it and remember to bend your knees before doing a trick or dropping in just to get momentum and not to fall off the sk8 board if you notice when you don't bend your knees it feels and looks stiff hope this helps!😃💜

I went to a skatepark for the first time with other noob friends and some guy came by to give us tips. I told him it was nice to know everyone wasn’t judging us for being bad and he replied that everyone was at our point at some point. Know that falling is the key to progress and success that's Tony hawk learned (tony hawk is a professional skater) 3.Remember that people are not judging you everybody was at your point one time! I recently got a skateboard as i have many friends who have them and it looked like it'd be fun to try! (the majority just have cruiser penny boards (solid wood ones, not those plastic ones-) I asked my parents and they let me order it, at first i just s a t on it (a few of my friends did this too from time to time just because, even if they could ride it fine standing.) my brother asked if he could try, he's never had or tried a skateboard before but was pretty good at it and has really good balance! He let me lean on him at first which helped a lot as my biggest fear was getting on it point blank (was afraid it'd move and i'd fall). we worked on it for around an hour on and off (we were doing this in our 2 car garage) and i was able to go from one side to the other, around noon today i was testing the waters (alone this time, was much more anxious as my brother wasnt there but it went well!) around 5pm today I took it out onto the sidewalk because i wanted to try and push my limits, it took a bit but i got it! i was outside with some friends until around 7 (they all had to go) and I just decided to practice some more, after i felt i could ride decently on the sidewalk i took it to the road (no cars, lot less busy & we have a lot of street lights so it wasn't dangerous.) and after 24 hours, i feel i am starting to get the hang of it! is super fun and i am glad i decided to get one!
