It's great to see you playing Japanese-centric games again, Especially the Yakuza series, 0 and 5 being some of my favorites. I don't know how much you'll play or how far you get, but I'm along for the ride regardless, wherever you decided to post this content. Hopefully I'll catch the next live steam of this one.

Yakuza 0 is easily in my top 10 games of all time. It's one of the few games I've ever played that retroactively makes the previously released games even better. I streamed playing it for a few friends of mine and a weird thing I always noticed is that when I got really sleepy, I would wander around reading the in-game signs. Anyway, happy to see you doing more stuff like this George! Keep playing until you're fighting in a bathroom, the beginning can be a touch slow.

I liked this video as soon as you started. Thanks for the cool content. I started learning Japanese 10 years ago; gave up; and now I seriously want to learn again. I'm trying to get as much input as possible. I subscribed to the channel. Looking forward to watching the rest of this series and your other videos.

The Yakuza series is one of the reasons that I wanted to learn Japanese. When I learned the two kana syllabaries I now have to stop and read every sign in the game that I can.

Such a coincidence that I just downloaded this game on Steam a few days ago in preparation to play it soon myself. Was trying to think of some games to play to get in even more listening practice and all. Never could get into this before, but I think I can now that I'm actually learning the language. So I am quite literally gonna be learning more Japanese through this game series. Have always wanted to get into it, and now I have the proper motivation to do so. So cool that you're playing it at the same time too. Means after I get through with my own play session, I can use your play sessions to kind of review and further explain what I see/ hear in my play sessions. Such a cool teacher!!

The name of this game is 龍が如く. 龍が如く means "like a dragon". I think it's a Yakuza with a dragon tattoo. ダチは友達という意味ですが、ヤクザみたいなアウトローやヤンキーがよく使います。 一般人、つまり堅気からすると少しカッコつけた言い方ですね。 普段使わないような日本語が出てきて大変かと思いますが応援しています!

0:09 Wrong ryuu りゅう(竜) kanji, it’s not 竜が如, it’s ryuu ga gotoku りゅがごとく 龍が如く(Like a Dragon). They both mean the same thing but this 龍 kanji is the traditional one and is often found in names of things more often, while this 竜 is newer. You can find both in people’s names.

I don’t understand. What’s a gamepad? And what does “dog water” mean? I’m guessing it’s some non-American slang or something gen-alpha says perhaps. I’m curious.
@rickandmorty4-ever615 ай бұрын
hey, no offence. I was sure you played it on PC, so I advised you to use the gamepad (hand controller). Your movement looked kinda forced. I then saw its actually on the PS4 (had to be a gamepad). I went on to delete the comment, but it was hidden from me unfortunately (for you to verify). Dog water = kinda shit (you wouldnt drink it, but in emergency its fine lmao). Next time you can check urban dictionary or knowyourmeme for that stuff. I appreciate the videos, youre a good lad
