wow, an entire 14 set of languages.. goodness, man, you have a great mind to be able to upkeep those. my focus is languages I know I'll run into often for most of my life, but if I really think about it, the list will probably overwhelm me. there's several I want to learn at once but I gotta do the pace my mind is compatible with. one at a time for now, hopefully someday I can do two at the pace I'm going with just german.

@@blackopsguy1023 Well it's very impressive to hear someone speak a foreign language well. It has that awe factor to it. People admire that skill in someone. It makes you more interesting. Adds something else that a lot of people don't have. You can visit the country and actually talk to natives. Make friends maybe you wouldn't have had you not learned to speak their language. Not everyone speaks english. If they do not all speak it very well. You can have a much better experience with no language barrier. Learning about and getting to know the culture. You can connect with the people.

This guy is a show-off and his knowledge is superficial. So far, he doesn't understand what in-depth knowledge of a language is. Can he write a serious article in the languages he flirts with? How many subjects can he talk about? Can he handle current events? He always spouts elementary sentences about speaking different languages. His approach is childish and what he says in his different languages is strictly "for show and tell" (as they used to say in school in America). In short, he's a dabbler. As far as Yiddish is concerned, he's a hopeless case.
@inavogel6262 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree. He speaks Afrikaans. His choice of words, are what we would consider very good Afrikaans. He is able to discuss any topic. He doesn't have an English accent at all. The German speakers here have all expressed their surprise /amazement /appreciation for his almost perfect German. He knows in which languages he needs more study. He is no show-off and not superficial at all. There are some others who are though.
