Hi, I'm Tom from Learn PDR Online. Sometimes as a PDR technician. It's necessary to remove internal trims such as door cards. So I thought I'd make a short video today, showing you how we can remove this door card and see exactly what's behind it to gain access to the inside of the door panel. So stay tuned to find out how.

Tom, what happens if you glue pull a dent and paint comes off of a customer's car? How is that handled?

This should not happen if the paint is original and the correct glue and repair technique is used, the only time I have had this happen is when the area has had previous paint repairs. Its on you the technician to assess the area and the repair before carrying out any work and also having a conversation with your customer understanding their needs and letting them know the potential risks. You can also ask them to sign a disclamer if you or they are unsure

Hi Tom the American's call that remove and install or r and i and make additional charge for extra work is that also a standard in the UK and how would you work around double laminate windows if necessary ? Hi Bill, Thanks for that Ive added R&I to the title, I can only really speak for my own way of working as there are techs of all different levels and each with their own 'standard' but I will try to assess the likely hood of needing to remove a trim and then incorporate that into my quoted price and usually include the removal in the description to show that it is a more involved repair, sometimes I get it wrong and then I will just remove and install what ever trims I need to gain access but I do agree you 'should' charge for any additional items like this. There is a generic price guide from Paul Kordon that has pretty much become the matrix for pricing certainly in the US but there are PDR techs using it here to, it has been used to create estimates within the Mobile Tech Rx software and takes away a lot of the guessing and can add authority to your estimating process. @@LearnPDROnline Hi Tom from memory think it was schooner, midi and jug, now pints,half,and still jugs but don't bank on 18 year old pricing a local pint starts at $10 a pint been in Australia 31 year's sure has changed will send email later this week thanks Tom.
