You'll note Annie use the word uhm as a pause word which is what natural English speaks do. Annie speak English very well and sounds very natural. I'm wondering if there is a pause word in Vietnamese that corresponds to the English word uhm ?

Annie I love your vlogs although I'm getting old and I fear I can't learn much. We've been to Vietnam 8 times since 2003 and I'm still at the xin chao, tam biet stage. However my question is that I hear you from time to time say Vietnam rhyming with ham and then rhyming with NARM in the US style. Surely the former is correct, when I hear Viet NAAAARRRRM from some people it nearly pops my ear drums. What, according to you, is correct?

What does mập lắm mean, very full ? I think it literally translates to very fat. Can you say mập lắm rồi ?

Map means fat although it can mean PHAT, pretty hot and tempting lmao.
